As of June 2010, there is currently no scientific evidence that the pineal gland produces DMT. Someday there may be evidence that DMT is produced in the pineal gland, but that day has not yet arrived.

I totally dig your enthusiasm around psychadelics, however I would have to disagree that the human being is incomplete without the use of "mind-herbs." We all get our doses of DMT with REM sleep, so it is impossible for the human being to never have a psychadelic experience. It is true that certain states of consciousness accessed with psychadelics can be quite challenging to encounter without psychadelics, yet not impossible. You'd be surprised what simple drums can do in the right hands.

Good thinking dont jump into DMT like me I became impatient and busted out my Syrian rue and Mimosa Hostilis and began brewing my own ayahuasca. After an unpleasant ten minutes or so of purging I became completely overwhelmed by information and visuals as Terence said a tidal wave 50 miles high and 50 miles wide came crashing down on my mind and i was in terror/astonishment for a solid 25 min which when in the "loop" of a good DMT trip feels like several days or years lol. So smart thinking ;)

psychedelics can be very emotional and they bring revelations, but LSD doesn't really make you see monsters or anything it makes you see things as they truely are - infinite, like Aldous Huxley said. It gives intense God like realizations but also a frightening ego death that brought me to tears then eventualy humble bliss. There is no evidence that Psilocybin has negative health effects. The greatest danger is to the users mind/spirit. This guy seems to be able to handle the onslaught if you will. I don't have any videos posted on this topic, only a few vids of a band i played guitar in when i was younger. I was lucky enough to chat with Terence after his July 28, 1998 lecture at the Wetlands in NYC. (same lecture as posted on Terence McKenna Land) I talked to him in the lounge downstairs over a cocktail and we talked about the 'Transcendental Object at the End of Time'. Those were the days that i believed it had something to do with the black hole at the center of our galaxy.
So everyone knows, Terence was a sweet heart. He was a true gentleman and would answer any question no matter how small minded or challenging. The mark of a true Shaman. It was almost comical to see him drinking a cocktail that night. It was in that conversation that he recommended i read Maya Cosmogenesis 2012 by John Major Jenkins which i wound up buying the next day. I so wish he was still here today to hear what he would say about all of this chaos. He is truly missed.

What i've come to realize is that the Mushroom or whatever is working through it knows everything about you. All of your hopes, fears and dreams. That's how it gets you to surrender. Its a higher intelligence that is unfathomable. To put an experience into words is pointless. Terence has said that you have this experiece that every human is looking for subconciously and then you come back and you can't tell anyone about it. Hence my screename.
The general opinion of the scientists when I was there with Mckenna was that the mayans came from another solar system to unite us with the calendar, and left the mushrooms as a means of connection or communication..

I made this comment because i found it strange that you wouldn't accept a quote from a source that you site quotes from constantly. I feel that if you quote a source you should accept quotes from the same source that people offer you. It's all in the name of enlightenment. Don't mean to ramble on but i like to be extremely clear on this subject. The five grams is the key. The man you consider a sage is absolutely adamant about it. If you can ask me the question 'who am i to say' than let me ask you. Who are you to say? I am the only person i've ever known besides Terence and his brother (and other shamans) who has actually eaten the 5 by themselves in the dark. ughh, i got here via a ridiculous neurosoup video. I've done many hallucinogens and read several mckenna books (architypal revival, true hallucinations, food of the gods, invisible landscape). shit i was a real mckenna fan for awhile. It was fun tripping. I think I thought it was pretty deep as well. Definitely better than beer. Not as deep as raising a child. I don't know what your studying but it seems like you might want to up the science classes. Maybe an abnormal psych class.

Marijuana is a psychedelic. Go on Google scholar there are over 9000 articles confirming this, Or get a subscription to Science AAAS. The problem with Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol is that is doesn't share any of the major chemical characteristic of of a psychedelic. Plus a subjective observation for me is that I have heard "stoned" people say a number of times "I'm Trippen'". There is no evidence that Psilocybin has negative health effects. The greatest danger is to the users mind/spirit. This guy seems to be able to handle the onslaught if you will. Psilocybin is chemically nearly identical to serotonin. Serotonin is C10H12N2O Psilocybin is C12H17N2O4P. Not much difference in size and 4 phosphor. It fits into serotonin A receptor sites the same the way. It is twice as heavy, there for it takes twice as long to metabolize.

I don't have any videos posted on this topic, only a few vids of a band i played guitar in when i was younger. I was lucky enough to chat with Terence after his July 28, 1998 lecture at the Wetlands in NYC. (same lecture as posted on Terence McKenna Land) I talked to him in the lounge downstairs over a cocktail and we talked about the 'Transcendental Object at the End of Time'. Those were the days that i believed it had something to do with the black hole at the center of our galaxy.

So everyone knows, Terence was a sweet heart. He was a true gentleman and would answer any question no matter how small minded or challenging. The mark of a true Shaman. It was almost comical to see him drinking a cocktail that night. It was in that conversation that he recommended i read Maya Cosmogenesis 2012 by John Major Jenkins which i wound up buying the next day. I so wish he was still here today to hear what he would say about all of this chaos. He is truly missed.

What i've come to realize is that the Mushroom or whatever is working through it knows everything about you. All of your hopes, fears and dreams. That's how it gets you to surrender. Its a higher intelligence that is unfathomable. To put an experience into words is pointless. Terence has said that you have this experiece that every human is looking for subconciously and then you come back and you can't tell anyone about it. Hence my screename.
