I had my nose pierced with a needle twice. I got this use bump on my nose and I had to pop it because it was pushing my piercing into the hole. It was just a big gaping hole in my nose so I took my stud out and let it heal. I had it re-pierced a few months later by a licensed person and the same thing happened. I was using these bottles they gave me to clean it, can;t remember what it was. Should I try piecing my nose again, its been a few years now...
getting my nose pierced was the worst decision i ever made :( i just took my out today. i have hypertrophic scar so the scar tissue caused a bump its the uglist thing in the world now i have a big bump and no ring :/ im so sad
I've had both sides of my nose pierced, I got my right side pierced when I was 22, and then I got my left side pierced when I was 24, sadly my right side closed up after I lost the ring.
I'll be going back in soon to my piercer to get the right side done again.

Can anyone PLEASE tell me if the L nose rings fall out easily? I have the corkscew type in and I like it but at the very bottom of my nostril you can often see the metal loop, which I hate that people can see it and I can't even feel when it moves so I don't know when it is showing or not. BUT I heard the L kind fall out VERY easily?
does it make any difference that the stud they put in the gun was sharp and pointy? meaning it wouldnt be blunt force? my fingers got stabbed when i picked up the stud board :(
@xCazza1995x No The gun is bad news, sorry to tell you. Watch for infection VERY close!!! That is the why most shops won't use a gun, the nose is much more likely to get infected. Hope your one of the lucky ones and you do fine :)
@someirishwolf you were definitely not lucky! Guns should never ever be used to pierce cartilage because the speed and concentrated force can often cause the cartilage to shatter - this will lead to a higher chance of infection as well as a bump on your nose and a longer healing time. Also, guns are much harder to clean than needles, so unless you go somewhere very good, you have a much higher chance of getting blood born diseases spread from the gun.

@screamergirl93 it really depends on the person, but it can take anywhere from a couple hours to a day or two. The piercing should be done with a needle, like a belly button - if they want to do the piercing with a gun go somewhere else! hope this helped :) message me if you have any other questions

@ferretlover561 I would say wait, but that's just me. A nose piercing looks a little strange on someone so young, plus if you are scared of needles that will be no good, because the needle they use is HUGE. But all this aside, no matter what I think, if your school doesn't allow piercings then that really answers the question for you.
loool i haven't gotten a nose piercing before and i'm planning on getting one. buut trust me, a cartilage piercing on your ear does not freakin hurt AT ALL. people say it does, but trust me.. it doesn't. i'm not even over exaggerating. i'm pretty sure a nose piercing will hurt more.
@Char1686dip actually, the amount of pain differs for everyone ... it depends on how much cartilage there is. For me, there is more cartilage in my upper ear than my nose, so it hurt a lot less to get my nose pierced. So, while it may not have hurt FOR YOU, that does not mean it will be so for everyone.

I have a really important question about my nose piercing..hopefully you or someone can help me.... ok so i had my nose pierced for about 6 months now, and 3 months ago, i went to put in a new cork screw, and it took me 3 hours to get it in.. so i took the cork screw and bent the "U" shape straighter so it would FINALLY get through my nose (which it did) and my nose piercing is ALWAYS sore. could this be why? or is it because of something else? Cos the gun can rip your cartilage on your nose & that can end up really bad , NEVER use a gun unless it is for the ears , trust mee LOL i got mine done with the needle & it really didnt hurt ! & a cartilage piercing does hurt more then the nose :D You should get it , its so worth it!
i have one of those "L" curved nose rings, is there a certain way you should angle it? because it just looks like its at a weird angle right now, like its going down into my nose, or is that just normal?
I was just one month 12 when I got my nose piercing. It did not hurt, when I was 13, I got a Monroe piercing (upper lip), which did much more pain. Helix have also had very much pain. Tragus and have now (12 years) and wished the needle is not through, so that I felt a bit too.

@makeup101xx no, it does not mean that it is healed. while some people's piercings do heal faster (or slower) than the average, just because it is not red does not mean it is healed.
I got mine pierced exactly 5 weeks and 4 days ago so it hasn't been six weeks.. i started changing the ring about a week or two ago and it isn't sore it was only sore for about a day or two xD

@KSftJW you can't take a new nose piercing out for even a little bit because it is swollen and you won't be able to get it back it and then it will close - and it will close fast! you have to have it in 24/7 for at least 6 weeks, and even after that it still takes a while before you can leave the piercing out for long-ish periods of time

@65227 your nose is fine - i would keep your piercing in for a while. some noses take longer to heal, and if play around with it it will make healing take longer.

ok so i just got my nose pierced on nov 30 and dec 1st i blew my nose and it fell out. i have alot of welling im afraid its gonna come out. should i worry or not?

I had my nose pierced for a long time and eventually decided to take it out. It surprisingly closed up with in a few days... plus there is barely a freckle or a scar. I would have to point it out for someone to even notice.

The worst thing about getting your nose peirced is i got a killer headache afterwards, but that might've just been me. If you want it peirced, this chick is right..go for it! @lilibette9 It was just a numbing spray, nothing special, lol!(: The headache was from the pressure difference from the needle + stuffy nose. Yeah, shots hurt much more, this felt like a pinch!! I actually had to get it pierced twice, though...it fell out 2 days after I got it done.
@rissa350 a ring that is closed would be unable to fall out on its own. i find that the L shaped ones stay in best for me, or the nose studs ... for some reason the corkscrew ones don't stay in well for me

@1caroline2 to get your nose pierced without parental / guardian consent, you have to be 18. if you have their permission you can get it at any age - they just have to come with you to sign the paperwork
Got mine done and it was the best decision ever. Cause it looks uber cute and it didn't hurt. The guy who pierced me was so quick and he talked the entire time he pierced me. It just hurt like he'll afterwards. It felt like someone punched my nose but now it feels like nothing is there. Like she said I suggest if you want to get it done do it. I'm a big baby when it comes to needles so if I can do it you can too. So if anyone wants one get it!! And you'll get tons of compliments :)

@diva7fyi nope i got reel bad sinusis and alergy and had no problem it can be anoying after you had it done cos u wana wipe at ur nose and the piering they use to do your nose is pointed to get it thru the cartilige and pokes the other side of yor nose but if you just change the original piercing its fine x)
@diva7fyi i wouldn't really recommend it - having to blow your nose might irritate a new piercing and all that extra bacteria could cause an infection
I got my nose done today and it hurt for a few minutes and it was not painful at all! I will wait the full 2 months before I change the stud! I love it and I waited until I was 45 years old to do it and my 12 yrs old daughter thinks that I am the Coolest Mom! But I told her she must wait until she's my age to get any tatoos or piercings done! Lol.

@TheElephant1001 it will close up eventually, yes, but there will always be a scar. Think about people who have had their ears pierced but stop wearing earings .. the holes close up eventually, but you can always see that they had their ear pierced

@klaura3 no, it doesn't run through the hole. there is no different between having a pierced or unpierced nose except that boogers sometimes get stuck on the piercing. but that's it. it never flies out or anything , nothing drains out of the hole

@cielo052393 nooo, you don't want to swim with your new piercing at all, because there's bacteria in the water that can infect the piercing. they say to wait until the piercing is fully healed... You can swim in the water, as long as you don't put your head under. to prevent it from getting infected, just clean it! but don't over clean it, because that can cause infection too. just follow the directions the piercer gives you to a T .

loool i haven't gotten a nose piercing before and i'm planning on getting one. buut trust me, a cartilage piercing on your ear does not freakin hurt AT ALL. people say it does, but trust me.. it doesn't. i'm not even over exaggerating. i'm pretty sure a nose piercing will hurt more.

@Char1686dip actually, the amount of pain differs for everyone ... it depends on how much cartilage there is. For me, there is more cartilage in my upper ear than my nose, so it hurt a lot less to get my nose pierced. So, while it may not have hurt FOR YOU, that does not mean it will be so for everyone.

I have a really important question about my nose piercing..hopefully you or someone can help me.... ok so i had my nose pierced for about 6 months now, and 3 months ago, i went to put in a new cork screw, and it took me 3 hours to get it in.. so i took the cork screw and bent the "U" shape straighter so it would FINALLY get through my nose (which it did) and my nose piercing is ALWAYS sore. could this be why? or is it because of something else? Cos the gun can rip your cartilage on your nose & that can end up really bad , NEVER use a gun unless it is for the ears , trust mee LOL i got mine done with the needle & it really didnt hurt ! & a cartilage piercing does hurt more then the nose :D You should get it , its so worth it!

I was just one month 12 when I got my nose piercing. It did not hurt, when I was 13, I got a Monroe piercing (upper lip), which did much more pain. Helix have also had very much pain. Tragus and have now (12 years) and wished the needle is not through, so that I felt a bit too.
Helix, I grow close by inflammation (is shot),
but if I leave now piercing I have no problems with that?

@KSftJW you can't take a new nose piercing out for even a little bit because it is swollen and you won't be able to get it back it and then it will close - and it will close fast! you have to have it in 24/7 for at least 6 weeks, and even after that it still takes a while before you can leave the piercing out for long-ish periods of time

@65227 your nose is fine - i would keep your piercing in for a while. some noses take longer to heal, and if play around with it it will make healing take longer.

I called my piercer and she said as long as there were no problems it was fine. but when i took out the spacer and replaced it with the stud it hurt worse then getting the piercing, should i be worried, and what does that mean?

I had my nose pierced for a long time and eventually decided to take it out. It surprisingly closed up with in a few days... plus there is barely a freckle or a scar. I would have to point it out for someone to even notice.

I just got mine done yesterday!(: I'm a 14 year old cry baby, and i've come to realize a shot hurts more. I got my nose numbed first, and then she just stuck the needle in. The worst thing about getting your nose peirced is i got a killer headache afterwards, but that might've just been me. If you want it peirced, this chick is right..go for it! If you don't, you're gonna regret it. ;[

@lilibette9 It was just a numbing spray, nothing special, lol!(: The headache was from the pressure difference from the needle + stuffy nose. Yeah, shots hurt much more, this felt like a pinch!! I actually had to get it pierced twice, though...it fell out 2 days after I got it done.

@1caroline2 to get your nose pierced without parental / guardian consent, you have to be 18. if you have their permission you can get it at any age - they just have to come with you to sign the paperwork

Got mine done and it was the best decision ever. Cause it looks uber cute and it didn't hurt. The guy who pierced me was so quick and he talked the entire time he pierced me. It just hurt like he'll afterwards. It felt like someone punched my nose but now it feels like nothing is there. Like she said I suggest if you want to get it done do it. I'm a big baby when it comes to needles so if I can do it you can too. So if anyone wants one get it!! And you'll get tons of compliments :)

@diva7fyi nope i got reel bad sinusis and alergy and had no problem it can be anoying after you had it done cos u wana wipe at ur nose and the piering they use to do your nose is pointed to get it thru the cartilige and pokes the other side of yor nose but if you just change the original piercing its fine x)

I got my nose done today and it hurt for a few minutes and it was not painful at all! I will wait the full 2 months before I change the stud! I love it and I waited until I was 45 years old to do it and my 12 yrs old daughter thinks that I am the Coolest Mom! But I told her she must wait until she's my age to get any tatoos or piercings done! Lol.

@klaura3 no, it doesn't run through the hole. there is no different between having a pierced or unpierced nose except that boogers sometimes get stuck on the piercing. but that's it. it never flies out or anything , nothing drains out of the hole

@cielo052393 nooo, you don't want to swim with your new piercing at all, because there's bacteria in the water that can infect the piercing. they say to wait until the piercing is fully healed... You can swim in the water, as long as you don't put your head under. to prevent it from getting infected, just clean it! but don't over clean it, because that can cause infection too. just follow the directions the piercer gives you to a T .
