What we do are called tutorials. If you want to know how to do a Smokey Eye, come in and ask! We can show you how its done on one eye then you get to apply the shadow to the other eye. We do this so you can go home with the knowledge and know how and master the look on your own=)

i think it really depends on what you get. you can get a make over there and you can tell them that you want something that you can wear to school but still dark, or whatever you want. its a little expensive but the stuff lasts forever and its great quality.

What brushes is the makeup artist using? Also does anyone know if she is she using Smashbox eyeshadow? That gray color is beautiful. I've tried other gray colors from other brands and they have either too much white or blue or too much glitter in them. I can never find a true true gray color eyeshadow. Anyone have any recommendations?

With dark skin, you need to make sure to do a swatch test (like on the back of your hand)with all e/s colors, because, of course, colors will look different on your skin than they do in their packages. This really applies to everyone, though. I envy darker skinned girls, as they can wear many bright/powerful colors someone as fair skinned as me can't, at least for day time looks. Also, I think darker skinned girls look great with lighter colors on their eyes, to accentuate them.

Of course you can. I think its very important, if you have dark skin, to use an eye shadow primer (so the colors will really pop).With darker skin, you can wear really dark or bright shadows as a day time look (because they don't show up as dramatic as they do on fair skin), and you can use lighter or brighter colors (than the 'typical' colors for smokey looks) to create this look (or any other eye look).

For REALLY dark skin I think a gold and gray-gold would look good as a smoke...it's not the "black and gray" traditional smoke, but it pops and it looks amazing. Also the lighter color accentuates the eyes on darker skin.
