Listen to that BEAUTY!!! The Heep are an awesome band, well, provided they have Byron and Hensley in the band, and yes I know David is dead, but the two of them WERE the Heart & Soul of the group, never better than that. Quite simply : Uriah Heep + Byron/Hensley =MAGICK Uriah Heep - Byron/Hensley = Mediocrity
gary thain! now, that's what a rock and roll bass player is all about. between gary thain and geezer butler and berry oakley, that's the whole canon, IMHO.
A lot of bands the day don't even have 1 good singer, but Uriah Heep had/has the 3 best singers ever! David Byron, Ken Hensley and later John Wetton. AMAZING!

I have had the good fortune to be old enough to have seen Uriah Heep a few times back when G. Thain played bass for them. I have now been playing bass for nearly 40 years and it is because of Gary Thain. You are so right about his sound and his ability. UH live is/was unforgettable. I saw them blow KISS off the stage in 76. GT was not with the band at that point but the end result was the same. KISS committed musical suicide by having UH open for them.
My young friend.... If you want it to come back it will. Get yourself a musical instrument and learn to play it with passion and ability and make the music you want to hear yourself. With any luck I will live long enough to see you on stage doing something that means as much as UH does to me. Best Wishes Always.
Looked at your channel. You are off to a decent start. Hope you find some mates that are like minded and you do something wonderful with it. Cheers. BTW I am in a couple youtube vids as well. Look up Bludstone "I hate my boss" I am playing guitar for this band. You can tell it is not my primary instrument but it was good for free drinks and pussy at the time. As far as your music...Be good and be good at it. Cheers.
I saw Uriah Heep three times in their heyday back in the '70's. All three times was at the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino, CA. Loved them. One of my favorite groups of all time.
@rinzotto I can't believed I stumbled onto your post, I too saw them at the Swing back in 70's, I live in dallas now (it blows big time) been gone a while. Saw many many shows there, saw everybody there! I went to moreno valley high. Me & my gf were there right in front & mick gave us his screwdriver that he drank out of!
Loved you guys back then and still find your music to be powerfull and to advocate for the ability for love is still a powerful noble cause indeed. But we all also find we in the end are truly alone on our walk through life and that is the tragedy. The aloneness one feels in life and the rejection on petty reasons of seperation for us that we can't connect and have a more beautiful life but we are alone and must walk alone until we find that someone who truly loves us.
@ss3210 The keyboardrist is not ken kensley but hensley. He also in Blackfoot. I like him with the hammond, this remains me in 1970 th, when I joint my band
Вот это чудеса, в те годы я в Российской деревне влюблялся в девчонок,а Uriah Heep были Богами,а сейчас я с ними со всеми знаком и даже работал с ними,не верю
Mick Box was very underrated. Still plays better then ever. Hensley and the singer gone. Great band and Mick Box was always fun to listen too. He was right there slinging the ax with the best of them.
Cada uno de los 4 grandes del hard rock y pioneros del metal tiene su obra maestra:
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven.
Deep Purple - Child in time
Black Sabbath - War Pigs
Y Uraih Heep - July of Morning
