@Core100 i dont have experience with adult bobcats, but do with other adult large cats, it seems you have about the same amount of chance getting attacked as with a domestic cat, except when its a larger cat an attack wouldnt be nice, there is a certain amount of respect an training you have to give them so as not to tick them off, and proper training to the bobcat so they know not to be too rough with you when playing, basically getting to know the animal well and it knowing you just as much
@Core100 if they are taken outside with a suitable leash when very young they can get use to being outside and playing within boundries, but you cant without a leash, because you always have to maintain being in charge and also the animal might get spooked and run off , they have instincts to roam, so that can kick in at any time

a family friend had one when i was about 10 and it was the king of the neighborhood (it lived outside) and it would chase german shepards that were to stupid to leave it alone.
it was fun to play with, just like a house cat. until you got too rough and it got excited and out came the claws.
i'm 40 now and i still have scars from playing with that cat everyday.
Bobs are just the best. I had one when I was a kid, many hundreds of years ago. He was my best friend for 22 years. Mom and sibling got smooched by a car and I fond him in the grass at the side of the road. His eyes weren't open yet and I bottle fed him for another 6 weeks. After his eyes were open it was one long party. He was one of the most affectionate, fun loving creatures I have ever known.
I always think it is so interesting to see animals like this bobcat, that we typically think of as being wild, responding in the same way that my own house cat does when I scratch his head in the same way. I know that this one was born in captivity, but regardless I think it is fascinating how they have the exact same mannerisms.
Oh my god, this is so cute. I love hearing the thuds of a larger cat rather than the light taps of a regular house cat as they playfully bat your hand around.

@DonkishLand bobcats are very closely related to the house cat. so much so you can acutely wind up with a half bobcat if it breeds with a house cat. my brother currently has a half bobcat. the naberhood of a sudden had these bobcat kittens so theirs acutely a few of them running around. there all friendly due to being raised by people. .

From the research I've done, bobcats bond really well with their humans if they're raised as a kitten, but they frequently don't get along too well with strangers, and they have tendency to spray even if fixed.

Cat likes the human & is marking him with the scent glands that cats have on the sides of their faces. Now the other cats will know who the human belongs to.

From the research I've done, bobcats bond really well with their humans if they're raised as a kitten, but they frequently don't get along too well with strangers, and they have tendency to spray even if fixed.
