  • i notice that the kodak hi-def camera i use to film looks different than the footage i see from music videos, and movies and tv shows. is there a specific camera thats recommended to make it look semi-professional?

  • wat kind of camera should i use im shooting a rap video

  • @bizz561 Doesn't really matter what camera you use dude. You can use whatever you have to make whatever you can.

  • @bizz561 hey i use a flip cam and the results are cool if you go to my page u can see the music videos iv shot with it. dont get me wrong theres way better camras but it looks good tho

  • @bizz561 I'm kind of amateur when it comes to filmmaking, but I would say any kind of camera would be fine, assuming that it has a high enough quality. Also, you have to think about how much editing you can get done with the video, and what kind of editing system you have at your disposal. Hope this helps!

  • @bizz561 ...a pimped one ;)

  • @bizz561 arriflex. Very common.

  • @bizz561 camcorder

  • @bizz561 Red one

  • @jonasolsen red one? lol...even if u have the money i wuldnt use it lol it so hard to color correct when you use the red

  • @bizz561 A very good camera! XD

  • @bizz561 Alexa.

  • @bizz561 red one, if you have $40,000 or if you don't, something like the Canon 550D or 7D

  • @bizz561 Yo, check out the music video I shot for my friend. It's called "Dj D - My Victory feat. Norad". I used my friend's Canon HF M30 and it turned out really good.

  • @bizz561 it depends, as most music videos are made with many cameras. You can "cheat" and use only one. That takes much more work though. The camera I will suggest is a Canon or Nikon. They tend to be very high quality with video (and sound). They range in price. The very big, professional ones are $2,000 or more. My friend has a cheaper version of a Nikon (still a Nikon) and the quality works very well, i suggest that. Message me if you want the name of that one, as of now, i don't remember it

  • @bizz561 thats something u decide urself not some one else

  • @bizz561 Most camera wold work, but the better the camera the better the result. You should also use some kind of wide angle lens which is normal in rap videos.

  • @IndustrialFilm

when you shoot your performances with one camera and you're getting different angles, do you shoot the entire song from each angle?

  • @kuunami

it's the main trick to get various shots. you don't have too record the entire time for each angle.

if you do you have a lot more to work with, but you can also just record some parts instead of the whole thing.

  • @bizz561 THE CANON 7D IS GREAT FOR MUSIC VIDEOS!!!

  • @bizz561 canon 550d t2i

  • @bizz561 canon 7d

  • Comment removed

  • @bizz561 any kind of HD camera i suggest a cannon

  • @bizz561 CHECK OUT DASH D, HE IS SMALL TIME MUSIC VIDEO MAKER. DOPE AS DOPE RHYMES. HARD MAIN. GOOD VID WIT VERY LOW QUALITY CAMERA

  • canon 7d or 550d for awesome results !!

  • This is a nice one, where can I watch it?

  • I have never shot a music video before only short films.

I will be shooting the music video in a warehouse, no story just the idea of pushing forward with a performance. I have selected the shots I want, in time to the music, drew out a story board. What's the best way to shoot it without having the band play 40 times?

  • @applesaga THen have them lipsynch.. have a stereo and let them sing with it. dont forget to exclude the sounds as you edit them with the true song. just a suggestion oky>?

  • really great info and easy to understand

  • Okay, this may be a stupid question... but what about editing anime music videos? Can you practice with that? I have no photography or camera expirience but I love editing animation music videos. Sure, I'm young but thats good because it lets me have time to figure out how the movie buisiness works. Would anime music videos even count? I would love it if somebody could help me... Thanks :)

  • Any and ALL editing will help you in a billion ways and teach you cool stuff. Experiment and don't be afraid of doing things "wrong" or use your software to do things it's "not supposed to". Push your own limits so you learn NEW things which in turn makes you better. Maybe you'll learn how to animate your own stuff to use... maybe you'll learn stop-motion and you'll cut pics from magazines. Just DO! "It doesn't matter if you're any good... do what you love!" -The Last Birthday Card

  • very awesome thanks!

  • Helpful,Im about to start shooting my own music videos, but how will I match my voice with the acuall song?reply please thanks.

  • Have your bandplay along with the actual track with their instruments off and singer lip-syncing at all times in every take that you do. This way you can be assured that when you lay the music track down that the lips, strumming, drumming and everything will synch up because you've imitated the very music that you're using as the actual audio track!

  • you have a recording playing durring video shoot, then editor will replace audio with the MP3 of the track and sync it up

  • play the song (cd player or whatever) and sing it or lip sink it and the when the video is add to your computer mute the video and add in the song, hope that helped.

  • tnx alot...

  • great info,

    thanks

  • has anybody got any exaples theyve made so I can see, please post as a video responce!

  • @adidas111112 I have submitted a response to this video of a music video I did a while back for a band. I did not have my HD camera at the time but it is a good example of a micro-budget-Indy music video non-the-less. You can check out my channel if it doesn't show up on here. And Nathan is right... get ALOT of coverage of the band. I ran out of shots while editing but I was able to pull by using one or two shots twice.

  • @adidas111112 check my 2 vids mann

  • @adidas111112 of you wanna see the best it go on vimeo not on youtube

  • can you shoot a music video with your camcorder?

  • you can shoot on anything. the higher quality the camera, the better the video

  • def! its also good to have a dof rig too!

  • Kind of a late reply here, but your wrong. The video quality itself looks better, but that has nothing to do with the quality of the video. I guarentee that a 5 year old with a professional camera can't shoot a music video as well as a professional with a 50 dollar camera.

  • i commented assuming five year olds don't make music videos...if you have talent. the video will be good. if you have talent, and a higher quality rig, the video will be better no?

  • It depends what look you want. But if you have better equipment, the quality will be better. The way you just said it though, you made it seem that if you have pro equipment, your video will end up pro.

  • yeah. i can see where you got that. soz..

  • Great Job!

  • Good stuff!

  • I always wondered about this subject. awesome vid
