The SC8 is 1/8 scale and the Baja is 1/5. There is no comparison. There both great trucks and are probably the best 1/5 and 1/10 sc trucks out there.

I think that the AE would be a little better, They build theirs for a more race specific which makes them tough for bashing. And the footage i've seen on them they look like they have a better suspension and stick to the ground alot better.

I bought my SC8 Bully Dog because I love the scale looks that associated achieved with this truck. This is a "grown up" version of a corr truck , most youger drivers do not care that much for it because it cost a little more and does not have a 3hp engine... I would love to have a 5T if I had enough room to run such a beast, we will not even discuss the fact it is $1200-1400 dollars... I paid $560 for mine at tower hobbies with my $60 club discount. Well worth the cash for my taste.

with some one with both this and a 5T, i can say, the SC8 with beat the 5T on the track all day. the 5T beats it anywhere else. and this truck is a good step or two ahead of the traxx slayer. this truck is more like a 1/8th scale buggy or truggy but good buggy drivers will beat it.

Started with a Jato? Pretty risky initiation my friend... but anyway, I'd suggest Team Associated, Traxxas's models are iffy. Plus, you can't beat a roll cage. Good investment there, and it comes stock with the sc8

i agree with psiturbo i could get a faster rc for $120usd rtr but the sc8 is all about being a real scale rc of the larger version. the heavy price is due to all the detail and effort needed to replicate the real truck. it's a niche within a niche. traxxas is cool too it's all about what floats your boat.

I like the realism, not everything is speed. Many R/C cars look fake when driven and handling is too twitchy. The roll-cage is superb, handling realism, attention to detail, FIVE STARS! If you are the type of KID who wants the fastest truck on the block or feels bad because a mamba is faster, so dont buy it, but if you can see beyond the cliche of "I want the fastest R/C", then this truck is for you!

It's an extended RC8 (1:8th nitro buggy) with a truck body. Nothing like the Traxxas vehicles in design. Traxxas beat them to the punch on re-entering the scale stadium truck scene, but it ain't copying.
