Caps are playing really well, but in the playoffs, they'll need all the defensive help they can muster. A lack of proper defense in their own zone cost them the series. With Clark gone, they'll need to find a replacement defensive forward. Pahlsson from Anaheim could be available since he's a UFA in the off-season. They'll also need to find a solid shut-down d-man. Jason Smith from Ottawa can be a good pick-up. Even though he lacks footspeed, he blocks shots and is physical in his own zone.

the start of a really weak first playoff performance by ovechkin. the flyers werent even a good team this year. not at all. caps shoulda won game 7 (missed interference on thoreson). but for the ov lovers/sid haters, sid has yet to not show in the playoffs like ov. however, this series turned me into a backstrom/semin fan. both just controlled the game whenever they were on the ice. im really not sure what happened to semin this year.

flyers may not have the better record at the end of the year, but in the playoffs teams just need to shut down ovechkin and green and there only on 20-25 minutes, for the flyers they dont have the best player in the league, but they have 3 centers(briere, richards, carter) who are good enough to be 1st liners, then they have gagne, lupul, hartnell, and giroux. they have depth which is more difficult to defend against, therefore in the end, the flyers will be better through the playoffs

Caps are great, they are legit, and they can do what we have been waiting for. They will have a hard playoff run, with Boston, and who ever makes the West, prob Sharks. But Bruce knows what he is doing and after last years game 7 OT loss, we know what we need to do.

Caps are playing really well, but in the playoffs, they'll need all the defensive help they can muster. A lack of proper defense in their own zone cost them the series. With Clark gone, they'll need to find a replacement defensive forward. Pahlsson from Anaheim could be available since he's a UFA in the off-season. They'll also need to find a solid shut-down d-man. Jason Smith from Ottawa can be a good pick-up. Even though he lacks footspeed, he blocks shots and is physical in his own zone.

We have defensmen playing forward postitions due to injuries and it still required a shootout. Federov is a has been and has been a non factor against the Flyers, and your defensemen except Green would have trouble starting in the AHL. Last years playoffs dont matter and by my count the score is 8-2 Flyers this year. Ovetchkin is a beast no one is arguing that he deserves to be in the All Star game just as much as anyone. Your record is hardly impressive the weakest division in the NHL. The Flyers are winning the strongest division in which half of the Easts playoff teams come from.
