I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but im just kinda curious why people hate their noses. I watched this anime when i was little and rewatched it again this summer.

I dont have any problem with their noses. I think the nose made them look European w/c i think kinda make sense. When I see Knights and all that, i think of the middle ages in Europe.

This and Escaflowne revived the "Golden Age of Anime" for a while. It was really crap when it became cheaper to produce anime around the early to mid-90s.

Now, moe and rampant no-substance shounen and shoujo anime are flooding the market again. Almost everything amazing is crowded with ignorant pre teen fans (Death Note, FMA) and it is annoying as hell.

I hope it is rejuvenated soon.

The golden age did end in somewhere in the middle of 1990's. I think Escaflowne was the last of the golden age. Too bad I do not like its character design.

I'd definitely recommend it. It's a fantastic anime, and the music just gets better and better. Yoko Kanno wrote a brilliant soundtrack for Escaflowne, the storyline is superb, and surprisingly, the voice acting is really good. I hope you like it!

Definately not. As far as mech design goes they're pretty fantastic, but this series is flat out boring in terms of plot and character development. I'm also biased because I hate the main female character.

The manga, the series, and the film a great. The theory of Escaflowne is very original, and the opening is just great... Escaflowne IS and always will be the best manga/anime of history.
