I knew who they were when I first saw this video. I was so moved by this song back then when I was 15(I'm 27 now.), completely forgot who they were, but I remember this song. That's until later on when I saw Les Nubians on tv and the named just popped into my head, so I came here and listen to this song. Now I feel so much better and nostalgic by this beautiful song. <3

I bought "Princesses Nubiennes" TWICE on CD just to loop this song, "Makeda", and "Voyager" (my favorite tracks) but "Les Portes Du Souvenir" by FAR is superior.....I just LOVE the quality of the sound and the Faussart sisters' voices! I now sing along in French. They are my gateway to wanting to learn French. LOVE Les Nubians!

I think this is a '99 or 2000 track. 'Really stands up. 1 of the best songs ever from Europe/ Africa.

sorry but they are two sisters. their father is french and their mother is from cameroon, africa. they grew up in paris then the family moved to tchad, a country in africa. after the war started, they moved back to bordeaux in france and that's where everything began.

Après avoir donné 2concerts en france elles sont actuellement en tournée aux US puis après elles enchainent avec l'Afrique... Ce sont des artistes exceptionnels et engagés et comme elles le disent "on ne sort pas d'albums à la chaine, on est comme sade, on prend notre temps!! Nous sommes maman et on n'a pas fait des enfants pour que ce soit d'autres qui les éduquent"

If some of you are looking for beautiful french music, listen to Kayna Samet's. I thought there was no hope for French music since Les Nubians and then her album came out in 2005... And what can I say? her music is superb, with meaningful lyrics and real depth, just like The Nubians' it really moves me (thought the musical style's different). Sorry for sounding like a commercial but it's just so hard to find real music these days...
