When the catholics get ahold of anything, they completly ruin it with images, gold, gems, candles......its too much.

The Oxford U. scientists, Drs. Biddle (husband and wife) -VCR available from History Channel - authenticated that this is indeed the original tomb. What confuses Protestants is the Gospels state that the Lord's crucifixion and TOMB were outside the walls. It WAS but now is within the walls built a century after. Learn History - that's where the answers are. Constantine 's Mother Helen took care to find sites where "God walked upon the earth!"

I have been to Israel much-and one of the FEW undisputed sites WHERE IT ACTUALLY happened was the Shepherds Field in Bethlehem!

That THAT is where the Angels sang!

Even though I'm protestant, If i had to bet on any location, it would be the church of the holy spulcher.

Much higher probability. But still, I wouldn't bet that the church is the actual site.

The Holy Sepulchre does not even have a place for donations. At Easter time Catholics from around the world take one collection for the Holy Land. I don't know what the Orthodox do.

There is a 0% chance that the Garden Tomb is the tomb of Jesus and there is a 99% chance that the sepulchre is the tomb.

I agree - the Church of the Holy Sepulcher has been the traditional site of the Resurrection for centuries. I doubt Jesus' early followers would have lost track of where he was actually buried.

hey is it free to see the sights that the church made?how much money would you say they rake in a year from the folks ?

It's free to see the church...maybe they get money from donations...

I went there this summer - most sights are free; only a couple charge a very small fee (and of course there are places to buy candles, icons and holy oil or water). And I don't think the Orthodox Church in Jerusalem needs a lot of donations: they own a ton of land, including the land the Knesset and other Israeli government buildings are built on.
