  • Conservatives in Canada are as bad as Conservatives here in the U.S I really hope Romney, Santorum, or Gingrich don't become the Republican Nominee Ron Paul would be good!

    PROUD LIBERAL AMERICAN

  • Saddest day in Canadian modern history.

  • TO YOUNGE TO VOTE BUT GO CONSERVATIVES

  • A shame we have only idiots who also happen to be criminals running our country when will we get a real leader with brains and moral standards instead of lies

  • And now the consevatives are losing popularity because people are starting to realize what a terrible human being Harper is and what a lousy job he is doing .

  • @Freethinker12341 sounds like a typical Communist

  • @gopconservative78 sounds like a simpleton white-trash hick from alberta who doesn't believe in evolution or global warming or any science and cant discern from a liberal and a communist (showing how ultra right wing you are). you have no place in canada, and neither does harper.

  • @Freethinker12341 lol sounds like your a real free thinker and no I don't belive in creationism most conservatives I know don't. However I do not belive in global warming because it's a scam and it's been proven to be. I am Conservative because there better at economics, then the libs, and they believe in personal freedom more than the libs ever do all they want to do is control everyone to fit there own personal interests.

  • @gopconservative78 stupid religious nut bag

  • has anyone seen the recent polls? the conservatives are right back own to 36%. So many Canadians voted conservative because most canadians are not that involved and dont care about politics. They had no idea who or what Stephen Harper was. Whatever he is. He's not one of us (if you are to call youself a Canadian).

  • Harper's election will increase the sovereignty movement in Quebec! Thanks ! ;)

  • @canadiens9231 yes, thats NOT a good thing. it just means more division. Harper isn't making the country more conservative. He's making the country more NDP and Bloc Quebecois

  • @canadiens9231 The sovereignty movement in Quebec is dead. Four seats? What a joke.

  • What a disgrace. Vive le Québec Libre !

  • A great moment in Canadian history! :)

  • 09:40

Very classy on Mr. Harper's part. I think all of us were shocked by how strong a campaign Layton ran. It's hard to believe that 90 days later, he was dead.

  • whatever you think of the man, he got his majority. he's to be commended for it. for an election that was supposedly "boring," the results were anything but.

  • Liberalism has been pushed to far in this country, Socialist taxation systems would drive out industry and jobs, thank God for out Conservative majority government!

  • @kyle887923 Then why did NDP and Layton do so well?

  • @DalekSG well Layton made pie in the sky promises that made voters with lower incomes vote for him.

Not everyone knows their politics. Layton was particullarly popular among seniors for promising better social security and pensions, amongst immigrants for promising higher immigration and family re-unification, those n welfare and social assistance for promising better stability.

He made lots of promises which made him popular. Promises that required massive taxation which cant work in Canada

  • @DalekSG - Layton did well in Quebec because he made promises that appealed to their socialist leanings, and decades of support for the Bloc got them nowhere. However, had Layton won, he would have needed $70 BILLION in new spending just to keep all those promises. It was a very tall order in a country with a small population that already spends $23 billion a year just to keep immigrants on government support with services in multiple languages. That's more than we spend on national defense!

  • I'm from Quebec and I think that the parts in french are very annoying, a speech is better enjoyed (even though I do not necessarily enjoy Harper's speeches) when it's fluid and in the mastered language of the speaker.

  • @Canbuhay you must just be deaf like most conservative voters, I said we have a debt worth billions of dollars, we did not have any before Harper, so if Paul Martin's platform was really Harper's then clearly he sucks at following his own platform. Conservative majority is not only bad for our economy but it's a threat to our freedom.

  • @MrBloc7 it wasn't the conservatives that kept Canada a float for the past 4 years, it was Paul Martin's economic reforms, since Harper has been in office Canada has had a tremendous amount of billions in debt, the debt was 0 when Paul Martin left.

  • @explik A little bit revisionist, no? Paul Martin wouldn't have been able to do what he did if hadn't stolen the platform from the Reform Party in the first place - the same party Harper had been part of.

  • @Canbuhay Stole it from Reformers? Wow.

  • Comment removed

  • I hope the Conservative Government passes a law that Quebec is sold off for magic beans

  • The only good thing about this election is that the stupid "Bloc" Quebecois lost so badly!

  • HARPER! HARPER! HARPER!

  • HARPER ALL THE WAY !!!

  • I still weep at this...

  • i still vote NDP jack layton and will always do but I congradulate the consertive for this win.

  • @coolya135

Have you taken the time to read the NDP constitiution? Pretty scary stuff.

  • @pittsky not nearly as scary as the conservative constitution

  • oh hey let's give the guy who doesn't hold the confidence of the house of commons more power.

  • so grateful that I witnessed in my lifetime the historic comeback of the conservative movement. still celebrating it today.

  • A well deserved MAJORITY!

  • ...and was somewhat struck by the idea that Canadians would elect individuals who seem hellbent on destroying Canada's classic single payer system...this coming from an uninsured American who would love to emulate Canada's health system in the U.S.

  • @ilovemycat00 canadians for the most case are gullible, lazy, stupid, and/or simply ignorant on what each political party represents as evidenced by canadians in polls liking American President Barack Obama yet canadians never elect a NDP federal government. I like canada but canadians need to be more educated about politics.

  • I watched w/ much interest the elections

  • CONSERVATIVE! WOOOOOOT! FUCK THE LEFT!

  • @tayeule124

    you stupid fuck....

  • @ProgressiveTeen you're an ignorant, uneducated, misinformed, immature adolescent. the Conservatives are the only party in Canada that won't make the Maple Leaf into a toal joke around the world. If you put power into the hands of the Left, Canada will be run into the ground

  • @MrBloc7

Well all i need to know about this guy is... He's America's bitch and he hates normal Canadian people and love corporations and lobbyists.

Oh and you're still a stupid fuck.

  • @ProgressiveTeen How does he hate Canadians when Harper and the Conservatives have pretty much kept Canada afloat for the past 4 years of global economic hardship with a minority government. Unfortunately here in America, our leader is trying the tactics that are destroying numerous European nations. I would choose Harper over Obama any given day because at least Harper is implementing policies that have made America successful, but the Left is hellbent on stopping any REAL progress

  • @ProgressiveTeen And what's wrong with being pro-American? His government is just trying to be a good ally. The United States assists Canada in many different ways, such as NORAD, NAFTA, many other examples can be cited. This govt has been the most civil towards the altruistic U.S. in years. Thats not being a lap dog, thats strengthening bilateral relations, and strong realtions with the United States in DEFINITELY in Canada's interests. Also, your argument is less credible when it's ad hominem

  • *strong relations with the U.S. are DEFINITELY in Canada's interests

  • Here we go... another four years of this AND Layton is really sick...marvelous...

  • Harpers an idiot Ontario loses all there jobs what does he do help Southern Ontario and then he say "Oh Ontario's doing well were starting to get our jobs back" while Northern Ontario dies no wonder Northern Ontario wants to split from Southern. Jack Layton would of been good for the north at least he saw what Northern Ontarios going through

  • Conservatives really deserve the majority! The Liberal age is over, LONG LIVE THE CONSERVATIVE ERA!

  • @nerdofthisworld Amen!

  • @nerdofthisworld Heil Harper!!!!!!

  • @nerdofthisworld

screw the liberals they perfer a terrorist in the country before a good law abiding immigrant

my father was Swat officer in Peru he came to Canada for a better life nad wanted to serve Canada by going into the army for giving him a better life but guess what the liberal governmen in the 1990s said to them to get out they perfer a terrorist before accepting him can you Belive that

  • Respond to this video... no joke

  • Respond to this video... that what they said to my father and pretty much that where i learned to depise the liberal party

    LONG LIVE CONSERVATIVES

  • @nerdofthisworld you're dreaming lol, if you think Canadians have somehow undergone some massive personality change and have all become members of the tea party you're insane. Canadians still want a government that cares about jobs, as well as social justice and prosperity. Canadians want a government that believes in science and realizes that it we should always base our policies on evidence. Not on whim or prejudice, or ideology.

  • @uglybitch49 You are full of it and too stupid to talk to, goodbye.

  • A great day for Canada

  • What's the song playing at the beginnning for 15 seconds?

  • I loved this speech.

  • Even though I don't the Conservatives, at least things can get done

  • Canada is safe for another 4 years. We have held the loonie lefties at bay and saved the country to fight yet another day.

The commies that want the NDP, which as showen their true colours by supporlng big unions instead of the Canadian people, are out of their minds, or insane, or both.

It is amazing how many ingorant people out there don't know what is happening in the real world and that you can not continue to spend more than you have.

NDP equals BIG UNIONS and assholes.

  • @justanoldman1 Canada is fucked for another four years.

The idiot fascist hacks that want the neoCON criminals in office have shown their true colours by supporting an incredibly corrupt group of con boys instead of the Canadian people. They are most definitely insane.

It is amazing how many ingorant people out there don't know what is happening in the real world and that you can not continue to spend more than you have.

  • @justanoldman1 neoCONS equal corruption, contempt, deceit, deficits, lies, tax hikes, corporate tax cuts, privatization, service cuts and most importantly a gradual degrading of democracy, an insidious scheme to rule the country with a Gaddafi-like regime. Harper does not care about serving the people of Canada, he is only here to rule, to stroke his own ego and to crush the will of Canadians to stand up and fight his corruption. Canadians will NOT stand for it.

  • @gricer1326 You learned a new word, neoCons, but what are they?

Firstly. the conservative party of Canada is not a conservative party. They are really like the liberal party of old. They are a center line with a little lean to the left.

Idiots like you are the problem with Canada today, not our prime minister Harper.

Learn something about politics before you open your stupid mouth.

  • @justanoldman1 ROTFLMAO, I don't even know where to begin. OK, first of all, when you talk about "centre with a little lean to the left" you are describing the old Progressive Conservative party, which was dead centre with a slight lean to the RIGHT. Then the fantically-far-right Reform party came along and quickly replaced the PCs on the opposition benches (they were down to two seats at one point).

  • @gricer1326 The current conservative party of Canada is not a conservative party.

    1. They do not believe in smaller government.

    2. They are not cutting useless government programs.

    3. They increase health care spending by 6.1% per year.

    4. They support and saved big companies like GM and Chrysler by investing our money.

These are just a few things that make the current government slightly left of center and there are no far right Reform members left, just these pussies. We need a Reagon.

  • @gricer1326 I was a card carrying member of the Reform party and they had some great ideas that the current consersatives did not accept.

    1. The right of recall.

    2. All of Canada's provinces must have road signs in both english and french.

    3. All MP's must swear and oath to Canada and her Queen (this would remove the block)

    4. MP's pensions to be reduced by half.

    5. The government must balance the books every year with no borrowing allowed.

    6. simplify the income tax system to a flat rate.

  • @justanoldman1

Nobody cares about speaking French, first of all. Also, nobody would care if Quebec just packed it's shit up and left.

  • @Bllasae Canada's official languages are English and French if you can't accept that move to the U.S or the UK.

  • @TheWho58

Hmm, no thanks, but tell me if you do so that I can be happier that you no longer live here.

  • @justanoldman1 Then the Reform Party morphed into the Canadian Alliance (even further right), which then merged with the Progressive Conservatives to form the Conservative Party of Canada, dominated by extremist Reform ideals.

  • @gricer1326 Name even one extremist reform ideals.

  • YAY for higher gas prices, less jobs, health care cut backs, and spending more on military equipment we won't end up using. Some pretty intelligent voters out there this time round, and we just handed them all the power. Just wait til' Harper finally agrees to label us all "American's", and brings in Canada's first Secret Service we'll all be taxed on. Are you as pumped as me? :)

  • @rider4343 Long live Conservatism...................long live the rest Vote splitting......Death to socialism/marksism

  • HEIL HARPER! HEIL! HARPER LOL

  • @NAllen828 Hitler was a National Socialist, who in Canada is a socialist and is very nationalistic even proclaiming that his values are Canadian, taht thinking differently than he does is anti-Canadian....hmmmm... oh yeah its Jack Layton

  • BITE ME HARPER!

  • I am by no means a Conservative (I am a left wing progressive liberal and proud of it) but the people of Canada have spoken and their decision must be respected for the next 4 or 5 years. Those of us like myself who do not agree must put forward our alternative views but let us respect the decision of the majority and work together to move Canada forward. A strong Canada benefits all Canadians, not just some.

  • @lerryperry You are the first person from the left to say something like this, at least from what I've heard. Thank you.

  • @lerryperry

Shit, a smart liberal? That's new.

  • am i the only one on youtube who likes harper?

  • wow, canada is suddenly less cool.

  • I believe that this moment in history will forever be one of the biggest mistakes we have ever made as a nation.

  • @42mada go fuck yourself, you must be a Bloc supporter........heh we rule with an Iron Fist!

  • @42mada Then Leave! We Americans will conquer your Nation....actually we just want Alberta, the rest can be burned to the ground

  • This guy mikefastener must be a royal pain in the ass for anyone, regardless of poltical persuasion....LOL. He has made numerous statements...stating that he will stop posting his garbage on Youtube. He attests to being polite and respectful of others, regardless of political view... LOL. Major major hypocrisy in action... Is this a person that ANYONE would want to associate themselves with? Politics does NOT have to be associated with incredible disrespect and intolerance...

  • Hmmm..it seems mikefastener, the infamous tory troll has hijacked this thread. When will he ever learn? And speaking of making the CONs look bad...

  • If the man knows one thing, he knows how to BEAT LIBERALS!

  • Harper! Harper! Harper! Harper!

  • Oh it's like a bad car accident...I want to...but I just can't look away.

  • Its funny how all the Libtards and Markists complain about the election.....they are the ones that voted against the budget and brought the house down....Harper knew what what comming and people like me for the past year donated millions to make this happen........long live common sence and libertey and may socialism die a quick death

  • @paulfornasier robbb661 yes you should check your spelling!

From a pauly-boy who, in his own words, is very "intellgent".

You gotta love the hypocrisy of the winger-boys!

Ohhhh pauly-boy.....I have made you look so foolish again--don't have a temper tantrum like your usual reaction.

    Sulking is also embarrassing.

    lolol

  • @paulfornasier Wow! This Mr. Harper really inspires Canadians to higher levels. Not the disgusting "what's in it for me" left-winger boy approach to Canada!

Love it! Voters certainly saw the winger boy lies and decided to, "Stand up for Canada".

Simple question, pauly-boy...will you, "Stand up for Canada?"

    Please confirm, "yes" or "no"

    Such a simple question.

  • Alls good .....no for 5 years of prosperity and stability....We wont be force fed all the Litard socialist programs we cant afford......

  • Comment removed

  • This is why canadians are so stupid..Harper has been elected 3 times and had a majority in 2006..don't people remember? You folks are holding canada back, the majority of canadians are progressive..

  • Harper got his majority. THANK GOODNESS!!!

  • @pittsky 14,720,580 Canadians voted... 5,832,401 voted Conservative.

That's 39.6% of the votes cast.

Now, 60% of Canadians didn't even bother to get off their asses and put an X in a circle.

So, the current government of Canada was elected by less than 1/4 of the eligible voting population. VERY SAD!

  • @kodiak1966 isnt canadas population about 35 million and wouldnt the percentage of people who are under the age of 18 and cant vote be about 6 to 8 million of that 35 million so i think the voter turn out you stated would be slightly off ?

  • @kodiak1966

Thats the way it always is.

When the liberals had their majorities with under 40% of the vote was that OK? Why is it only bad when the Conservatives win?

  • @pittsky Funny thing is.....Its the people that don't go vote that keep complaining.

  • @kodiak1966

    I agree with you 100%.

The way I see it, if you don't vote, you can't complain.

  • @pittsky I would vote, if I was able to (I'm 17).But I do agree.

  • @pittsky Um, no.

  • @iAmCodeMonkey

Um no? Thats your argument? No wonder Harper got a majority.

  • @pittsky "No wonder Harper got a majority." What are you implying by that? I can't stand Harper and his ideals for our Country. He is a wannabe dictator in my eyes.

  • @iAmCodeMonkey Well that's one of the things that makes me like Harper even though I vote NDP, it would take something comparable to * being a dictator * to bring big ballsy change, something many politicians lack- balls

  • an awesome result and PM Harper is a great man.

  • It is TRULY DISTURBING what Harper and his Conservatives have done to Canada. They are more Pro-Israel and Anti-Canada than anyone else on Earth. Harper and his Cabinet are TRAITORS to Canada, they ONLY represent Israel, they ONLY care about the Likud Party Agenda in Israel, and Harper should be charged with TREASON. Harper has DESTROYED many Canadian Institutions and has Ruined Canada's Image Permanently.

    rabble. ca/news/2011/04/election-2011-harpers-attack-and-arab-and-muslim-community

  • @halcyon0830 Your values are not Canadian values, hatred of Jews are not Canadian values.

  • This man has no soul!

  • Canada need a pragmatist like Harper in office before the shit hits the fan. There's no nonsense with this man, we need him.

  • To a large extent I don't think Canadian voters voted for a Harper majority, they voted for a majority. it's part of our Canadian sensibility I think, we want the Government out of our faces, doing their jobs. (Unlike our American friends who seem to view politics as a form of entertainment) So what Canadians really wanted was a Government, any Government that would shut up and get things done.

  • To ALL THE HATERS: There was always a possibility that Harper would form a majority, so why you're acting so surprised is beyond me. If you want to see your party's speeches, LOOK IT UP, GO WATCH THAT, BECAUSE NOBODY CARES!!!

  • @TomKlassen Calm down! We get it.

  • @Marc80 Is Andrew Coyne conservative enough for you ? He couldn't stomach Harper either. He voted against him. Read his column in Macleans magazine a few days before the election.

  • Comment removed

  • @trelos73 I have heard that Stephen goes home alone and that Laureen left him. Word is their marriage is pretend - for political purposes - at this point. Until after this election. Watch for an announce in a few months.

  • I can't believe I like the Canadian PM more than my American president. Well done, neighbors, well done indeed.

  • @eskyguard Sorry but I don't envy USA under Obama, you have to get rid of him.

  • Nice to see him give Preston Manning some props

  • Politicians are the same. They do whatever they can to get elected.

  • Congratulations Mr. Harper, my 12 yr old son + I worked for our local CPC candidate, who also won, by a HUGE margin. Lets do this again in October 2015!!!!

  • Go Harper!!!!

  • Finally Canadians voted in the best possible government they could!

  • Harper won, no sense in typing bs now. Live blue or smoke shrooms.

  • harper must have been thrilled!

  • As long as he blows out Bigamy and Prostitution in the supreme country, like he promised, then that is good enough for me. That is the reason I voted for him.

  • @AllstarCanadian What?

  • The people that voted Harper in, who are still in the minority in this country (if you look at pure percentages), disgust me The man spent millions upon millions of dollars on attack ads for the last few years, which is constant mud-slinging, was found in contempt of parliament, has lied, has basically stolen millions of taxpayer dollars...and that's just what we know about. Not to mention the reduction in freedom of the press in Parliament Hill. The man is crazy, now he rules us like a king

  • worst thing thats ever happened to this country...

  • I dont know anyone personally who likes Harper, yet he always gets elected. What a disappointing thing for canadians to do to elect him again and this time with a majority. more money to the oil companies, more cruelty to animals, and more waste and lies. Dumbbbbb

  • @BulgarianInCanada thats because you and you freinds are Communist....go back to you scum country that cant figure it out

  • @robbb661 Go back to history class dumbass, we haven't been communist for 20 years!

  • Who in their right mind voted this guy in again! They have no idea what they have just done!

  • Go Harper!!

  • I'm not under any illusion that the Tories will be vastly different fromthe Liberals of the 1990s, so for me the positive here is that I won't have to worry about my tax dollars being wasted on another election any time soon. Even if Harper messes things up, it's always repairable. We've had facepalm inducing governments like the Tories of the 80s before and we made it through. If he wants a second term, he'll play it cool. Otherwise the Liberals or NDP will reverse his policies in 2015.

  • Well done Canada! We can finally get things done with a majority. I also really like the NDP in there as the official opposition. On paper, the House of commons is looking brighter than it has in some time now. I could not be happier that so many Canadians voted for a majority instead of another minority. Lets move forward as a nation!

  • @phlyersphan25

Would have rather someone other than Harper. He has lied repeatedly and been caught, found in contempt of parliament...the man is a dictator in a democratic leaders' clothing. If he was so good, why spend hundreds of millions of dollars on mud-slinging, rather than showing what -good- he will do for the country? Answer; expect medicare to go bye bye, expect our troops to be killed in areas of the world we have no business in, and expect wasteful spending up the wazoo.

  • Let us hope that the country moves in a positive direction though I have many reservations about this.

  • :-)

  • Great, so I guess I should get married to my same sex spouce and getmoney from the government for post secondary education before its too late! While I'm at it I should pick up a bullet proof vest. To everyone who voted conservative: go fk yourselves.

  • @audiophile1987

    lol born in 1987

Don't worry kid, when you gain some life experience and knowledge, the conservative party will be waiting for you.

  • @romanbuddha

1982 here; I got to see Mulroney, the same man Harper openly admires. The man has done no good for this country, none whatsoever, and you're telling other people to grow up? Get the blinders out of your eyes.

  • @romanbuddha Hello, romanbuddha. I am 35 and a supporter of the NDP. How does that fit into your "logic"?

  • @romanbuddha

Define experience and knowledge. Are you implying that finding Jesus and renouncing homosexuality is life experience? The only reason why the conservatives have the majority is because the majority of Canadians were tired of NDP Bloc and Lib temper tantrums. Infact I think the liberal in my riding's platform was 'vote for me so Harper doesn't get a majority" which isn't a very good platform at all.

  • We're doomed... =_=

Why don't we just call Obama and ask him to take over now... might as well, we're about to become the new US anyway. I miss when Canada was Canada. When we had our own stable place on the world stage... not just America's shadow.

I hope there is something that can throw a wrench in this whole thing, I'd rather yet ANOTHER election than have this man in complete power! I'm disgusted with people who would vote this man back in, with a majority nonetheless. Again, we're doomed!

  • @angelwings1086

lol send in Obama to rocket up a 1.7 trillion dollar deficit

  • @angelwings1086 Pick your ballsack back up and compete.

  • Sigh...

  • It is shocking that most Canadian voters prefer policing over peacekeeping, corporations over families, contempt over democracy. A dark day has befallen the greatest country in the world.

  • @sweiland75 So true.. so sad.

And most people posting here has no clue what Harper is really about. No clue.

They think he's a nice guy. He's not.

Read "Harperland" by Lawrence Martin. RIP Canada

  • @Archtop42 Lawrence Martin is a partisan Liberal shill masquerading as a journalist. Harper's not perfect by any means but I wouldn't use a book by Paul Martin's best friend as evidence!

  • @marc80s

When conservatives like Andrew Cohen and Margerat Wente will not vote for him - that speaks volumes.

    I rest my case.

  • @marc80s Lawrence Martin is an Ottawa-based public affairs columnist for The Globe and Mail.

A best-selling author, Mr. Martin has written 10 books. He served as correspondent for The Globe in Moscow, opening the paper's bureau there in 1985 and as bureau chief in Washington and Montreal.

  • @Archtop42 Who are you, his PR agent? I know who the man is. He's also (as I've said) a blatant Liberal apologist and shill. Do I have to quote from his columns? He's as biased as they come, despite all his accomplishments.

  • @Archtop42 I agree

  • Comment removed

  • @sweiland75 I agree completely! My mother and I voted NDP, and we were both shocked when the results came in. Yeah, this great country is SCREWED for the next four years or so.

  • Comment removed

  • here comes more corporate tax cuts.. that should be good... (sarcasm) :(
