It's sick that a team like USC can lose to Stanford, a 41-point underdog that had won only ONE game last year, and only drop to 7 in the polls, while Michigan went from 5 to unranked after losing to "only" a 33-point underdog team that actually knew how to win. first of all that was michigans first game so no one knew how good they were. While usc had already won some games against fairly good teams. You need to realize also that app state isnt even a 1a school of course if they lose to them they should come unranked. USC wasnt as good as they have been but still they have an ok record if it was their first game i would say they should drop alot more than they did but even still stanford is a 1a school

Predictions don't really mean much. For god sakes, Michigan was supposed to be in the BCS Title hunt. Appalachian State ended that. I don't agree with how automatically at USC, the qb is always in the Heisman hunt. Even if he had 0 hype the year before.

It's a huge difference from I-A and I-AA. I-AA ball has roughly half the scholarships and less than 10% average funding for their athletics than I-A schools. App State beating Michigan is like a broken down Yugo beating a Ferrari in a street race - it doesn't make sense. Stanford is, at the very least, driving a high-end Toyota.
