I love the bit of backfire you get without the muffler. Sounds very cool!!. I have an 07 Outback Sport SE that I would love to do that on but I know it wouldn't pass inspection if I did. I live in a State that is huge on inspections and will often randomly pull cars over to the side of the road to check emissions. Without a muffler the machine they use to test emissions would detect a higher flow rate of exhaust and they would notice the missing muffler. It's a big fine for that too.
@SubieSean Yea looking back on it it didn't sound very good. At the time I thought it sounded awesome but I was young and stupid. Oh well. Good thing I smarted up and got a WRX. I should post a newer video of that one. I think that my WRX sounds awesome. (Which later I will probably think sounds like butt.)
@b154wheel Yea I bet it sounds nice. I wasn't putting you down or anything, it's not you can hear the muffler or system in the store. I ordered a borla muffler for my '99 impreza outback sport. Can't wait!
@SubieSean It's cool. If you were putting me down or not. I'm not really affected by what people say. So flame away or praise me. Whatever. That Borla should sound pretty good. Let me know when you get a chance to upload a sound clip of it.
@b154wheel No I wasn't. And that's good you don't let people affect you by what they say. Hey I subbed to you, even though I guess you are responding to me on another account, if you sub you can see all my videos. I haven't uploaded any yet, been kinda busy.
@G3TLOOSHemi The WRX has a completely different engine. The WRX is built with lower compression because of the turbo. You could put a super charger on the N/A engine but it isn't designed for that. Personally, after owning both cars (2007 N/A and 2010 WRX) I would shell out the extra couple of grand for the WRX. If your mechanically inclined, I would get a WRX that is a couple years old and would probably be the same price as a new N/A. Just try and find one that hasn't been modified. Of course.
I really like the way your car sounds and i was wondering if its a straight-drive or automatic? cause my 07 2.5 impreza is auto, and i was wondering if i straight-piped it, if it would be way too loud when idling or just casual driving. As long as its not roaring at just 35 mph then im good haha. any info would be great
@ImprezaCloud Not sure what you mean by straight drive. Guessing manual? But yes my car has a 5-speed manual transmission. It's not fully straight pipe. Just axle back. So the factory cats and mid pipe are still installed. The car is right on the line for too loud when first starting cold. But after it warms up, you can't even tell its running. Interior noise is moderate. Nothing too crazy. I'm personally not a fan of exhaust systems on automatic cars. They just don't sound right. Just my 2cents
@b154wheel ok thank you, im getting a cosmo SRI for my impreza, adds horsepower, and it will sound nice too. i think i'll just wait to get an exhaust until i get a wrx in a couple years. thanks for the info
@ImprezaCloud You may want to be careful with that SRI. I didn't have any experience with a SRI on my N/A Impreza but I guess some people had problems with them. Just some more of my 2 cents.
@CCadet12 Don't really remember. It's the stock sizing. 2.25" or 2.5". Sorry I can't give you more information. I got rid of this car about 8 months ago.
Yea I know. I wanted to get a header for it but instead I traded it back in and got a 2010 WRX. So now I have the rumble (because I straight piped it too) and 265hp. I'm good. heheheh
Sounds like a Honda..
