Thank you for sharing with all this special abode and the choice that is available to each of us to live anywhere on the spectrum of involution towards Realization- of God.
This is so very Beautiful. I keep watching it, and being filled with the Only thing that Truly exists. What a wonderful reminder for All of us, that we have a choice, every moment of every day, to live our life through the "outer" world, or live our life through the "inner world" where true Love resides. Thank you, so very much, for giving this to all of us to share and experience.
Actually it's incredibly surprising to see Muslims sit there by the tomb while the times for obligatory prayers just pass away. THere's a Masjid (Mosque) down the road, but when the call to prayer is being given out, these people are just sitting there by the tomb.
Do you really think sitting there has taken off the obligation from you to offer your daily prayers?
My sense of those who sat beside her tomb was that they were in CONTINUAL prayer... again.. on the inside. Our experience - as this video tries to show - is that the outer actions and the inner awareness, can be on very different planes, simultaneously.
There is a wonderful Sanskrit word: upadesh - to sit near, to sit near in silence. Sitting at the feet of the master one obtains benefits that often can be felt in no other way.
All forms of prayer are divine, especially if the heart is in it
That, in simple terms, is called Shirk. That is associating partners with the Supreme Almighty God.
You see, sitting at the tomb of a mortal and whining away time when you should actually be praying to Allah SWT (I mean 'Salaah' or "Namaaz' when I'm talking of prayer time), is a punishable sin according to Islam.
And by the way, Hazrat Babajan (RA) is NO master. The Supreme Master for ALL of us is Almighty Allah SWT; no one else is acceptable.
I recently visited her shrine and was able to stay for 2.5 hrs, perfectly still and in deep peace. The quiet muslims who assist running the tomb were respectful and loving.
It is not necessary to ask for anything at a saints tomb, though many do. What is important to me at these places is to BE Still and feel the radiant peace which still emanates from some. Since this tomb is now on a busy noisy street full of traffic the silence here is all the more amazing and surprising.
Yes - just as you so beautifully say - it is a stunning contrast between what our inner and outer experiences actually are - all the more so when we pay attention to each. Thank you for your comment. - pods
Hazrat Babajan was a great illumined saint who lived an ultra-simple life, and inspired and taught people from the essence of her enlightened state. She lived much of her life in Pune, India. She lived 1806-1931, and is well known for her connection to the avatar Meher Baba.

people visit his/her grave for what reason? to ask for something? Visiting of graves to helped by a dead person is no different from shirk!
