Yes we train legs. At our last meet three weeks ago i squated 660 @ 181, joe squated 830 @220, and dave hoff squated 1200 @ 280.
I enjoy reading comments from the stupid people. And who ever said we develope big bellies cause we only train upper body? Thats funny! And that us afrozilla ( nick gaston) in the back ground. This guy is huge, and one of the nices guys ive ecer met.
I respect and am extremely impressed the strength and power behind what these guys do. But I have to ask, why do so many develop those huge bellies. Not all of them, but some, like the one with the blue elbow bands. Not hating, Just curious.
@Zipemova1 To answer ur question ZIpemova1, the develope huge bellies because they spend little time doing anything else but upperbody Chest/ Arm workouts.. These guys arnt that strong to be Truthfull, im 18 230lb and bench 400 lbs these guys are 260+ in weight and having a hard time pushing 400
@kingrohan11 you really have no idea how the guys at westside train. dave hoff has a 1165 squat. but he does nothing but upper body? don't talk out of your ass bro
@SplinterCellFugitive who cares if its equipped thats part of the sport. I'm just pointing out to the other guy that they train more than upperbody and are stronger than he ever will be.
@runtinsweet One advantage is to work on the sticking point many people have during benching. I believe it's better to do floor presses starting from the bottom position for that purpose though. Similar to doing a bench press in a power rack, starting with the barbell in the bottom position.
@Deathcrushed87 Actually no I am not skinny at all, I'm actually lean and muscular, and yeah its a sport for a bunch of overweight gorillas with no sense of what athleticism is, you seem like one of those who lifts, gets no pussy and is fat. If that makes you feel great, then go ahead buddy, my only statement is power lifting is in no way athletic, anyone who takes steroids and eats like a whale doesn't really accomplish anything in life but have a small penis.
@Deathcrushed87 They might or might not, there is no purpose in lifting over 500 lbs., when it comes to actually moving your body lets see who's more towards winning a real athlete like a baseball or basketball player or a powerlifter who just lifts and well thats it.
question, what's the point of these? i keep hearing sticking point. i knew some powerlifters who never did these. how do i know where my sticking point is? my bench has been stale for a long time, actually going down. any points?
Man this is the 2nd video I've seen Sk8forlife90 argueing with someone. Change your name if you don't skate(no brainer). Onto the video ha. Aweosme stuff, can't wait to get to there level. O and pressing from the floor is good focus on the top part of the movement and iolates the triceps pretty good. Also its total upper body, not allowing you to push with your legs or arch your back.
Did anyone notice nick " afrozilla" gaston in back with all black on stretching ? He's an MMA fighter he's got an upcoming fight in UFC I think but either way I know it's him cause my last name is gaston too haha that's gnarley haha I wonder if he's training westside that's dangerous for an MMA fighter to be under westsides guidance for his opponents that is haha
You guys are a bunch of idiots who cares who is taking steroids get off the subject and lift heavy like westside they are the strongest lifters in the world look at powerlifting watch and tell me who the leaders are in the squat bench and deadlift..
@ShoVip1 these are not "niggas" these guys actually do something productive, and arent punks, they also wear their pants at a normal height and dont tawk lyk dis
@sk8forlife90 ok if you dont think 99% of the professional level powerlifters are on somthing then you are ignorant it not cheating in bodybuilding, trongman, or powerlifting because everyone does it and there are no rules against it
@16dmonkey16 dude, your fucking retarded because i am saying they use steroids and your saying that i don't believe you that they all use steroids. what a fucking retard you are seriously.
@sk8forlife90 kid your grammar is atrocious and it shows how sparse your education is. leave your room and attempt to lift up a barbell rather than critiquing guys who would eat you for breakfast.
Could you tell what is the reason you don't pause at bottom of the lift? I have read many times Louie recommends pause at the bottom of the floor press to accomplish static overcome by dynamic and relaxed overcome by dynamic work.
i just started floor pressing a few weeks ago and mad does it help! my bench is at 475! the dudes at west side would call me a girl but im happy with it.
Thanks for posting this video. i was unsure if t pause for a few seconds at the bottom or press up as soon as my elbows touched ground. this video answered that question. thank you.
GREAT JOB JAY!!! good to see you back on youtube. cant wait to see you hit that next world record.!!! would love to see Fred Get back into the record charts as well!

@kingrohan11 I like that the shit-talker has no videos of himself doing these fantastic weights.
And they get fat because big-size=big-bench and gives them more carryover from their bench shirts.

@EmotionalShredd that is not speed work, they are just doing reps with the same exercise. speed work for bench is done in sets of 3.

@rawnie79 i read in the book, that they do 8 sets of 3 reps for speed
