Alright, let me level with ya'll here. This movie, wasn't that bad. It's mostly accurate story wise, and the effects are very fluid, not perfect but fluid. Here's where I think the movie falls short. The characters don't seem to understand who their characters are. Sokka is portrayed as a very stern very protective figure instead of the whiny kid coming into maturity. The moments they try to make funny, just come across as meh. Aang looks too young looking and Katara is very meh as a character.

I really hated how serious and sad they made Aang in this movie. In the cartoons, he was very playful , immature and always desperate to learn all the elements. The thing is that this movie needed a different tone. Paramount should have hired a director that really loved the cartoons . This was a missed opportunity , as The Last Airbender had great potential to be an epic trilogy like The Lord of The Rings. Shyamalan sucks !

This is one of those few movies with en ensemble which is truly an all star cast working to the best of their powers namely because actors like this one were not that well known at the time they were working on this film and took advantage of their opportunity at fame. To be perfectly honest, the only thing I found apealing about this movie was the fact that Jackson Rathbone played Sokka. This is the worst fucken movie adoption of a great cartoon series eva Emanate Shyamalan or whatever your fucken name is all i can say is shame shame have you eva really watched the carton series the fire nation are Asian not fkn Indian are you nuts and it is the Avatar in the avatar state that that kills Jowl sets up series 2 not a couple of water ppl you completely changed the 2 main and key elements of the movie witch in my opinion has shadowed any good creativity the movie had

I didn't see the movie but if anything was good of it what exactly was there that was made or done good? ex. the worlds, temples, costumes, cgi - sfx, names, the freak-like animals. Did the actors look like the cartoon characters? How far off the road was the movie's story compared with the cartoon story?

@Pantbera They say that Admiral Jaahl is Zuko's father, you can tell that someone is a firebender at first glance, they pronounce Aang's name wrong, they mess up Sokka and Katara, Uncle Airo is evil, Worst Cartoon to movie transition EVER!

If they couldn't even see that the Fire Lord is Zuko's father and messed up so bad with with the other characters it's completely not worth it. The director, his producers and script writers probably saw just 1 or 2 episodes before they started the movie.

@opa788 well the thing is that most of us Avatar: The Last Airbender fans are mad that the movie was so far from the original tv show that we found it just awful. The effects and others were cool but the storyline was too far off from the original series.
