I can't really call that a spoiler, everyone who has played FF7 knows what happened to Zack, otherwise he would have been a playable character in FF7.

@kingkng1995 This is a prequel of FFVII and mostly fans will play it anyway. What I mean is, anyone who knows anything about FFVII should know that Zack Fair is dead. He was dead before FFVII started and this game shows his story. Therefore, he dies in the end in orde for FFVII to start

With full knowledge that I'm going to be lynched for saying this by overzealous fanboys eager to defend every aspect of their beloved franchise:

Final Fantasy VII was made like ten years ago. To say that Zack dies is no more of a spoiler than to say Darth Vader is Luke's dad. Most people played it before Crisis Core and therefore already have prior knowledge about Zack's fate.

Though why he has his own game is beyond me considering that he has about 10 minutes of actual screentime in FFVII.

I seriously agree. Great game. Gameplay isn't awesome and does not do the story justice, but definetely worth it for just the story, like Kane & Lynch.
