This phone takes about 2 minutes to turn on. It also gets a "sorry too many cards open" on a regular basis even when NONE are open. Rebooting etc doesn't help.

A simple high school speech class or even 15 minutes or so of concentrated practice could avoid the majority of his stuttering. Sure everyone will slip in a few "uhhhs" here and there but his complete and total lack of communication skills was distractingly bad. There are just a few hundred apps right now including a couple silly ones like fart noises. But the app store is growing every day and more and more useful apps are popping up including plenty of free ones. If you're big into apps, I wouldn't make the jump yet. I like the pre better myself because of the user interface. It's the best on a smartphone today. But the app catalog is still lacking at the moment. I just don't care about that myself.

Not really, if you do research. People in speeches ect, say uh a lot. Reason why is because they are looking to say what they need to say in the best way possible.
Do some more research and you will see many great speakers use uh a lot.

Secondly, you have said nothing to disprove my points that saying uh frequently makes the listener lose interest and its annoying. Perhaps reading comprehension isn't your forte?

You should have realized by now then, if you're an experienced public speaker, that usually only other trained speakers tend to start focusing on the speaker if they have a habit of saying "uh". Next thing you know they start criticizing their speaking technique instead of paying attention to the content. This is what I like to call "professionally induced ADD". Most do not lose interest if the content or product they are talking about is interesting enough in itself. Be real here
You are clearly here to big up apple. Yes 3Gs is faster, however the Pre is far from slow and its still being updated. Sorry to bust your bubble but if you look at the Pre specs, the 3GS is barley ahead and all Palm has to do is update and the speed of the phone will increase.

ok i have a major question! in such smartphones as this one, and others like the blackberry, omnia, etc. if it has wifi, do you need to have a data paln? do these phones need their own personal data plans? its so confusing help me out
if ur phone has the capabilitiy to go on the internet (without wifi) u will be charged for the use. Therefore its 'cheaper' to surf the web with a dataplan ie 20bucks for 1 gig of upload/download
however, if u umm have wifi, any downloading u do while using wifi will not be charged to u, its' 'free' as long as the source of ur wifi is free =)
imo i like the HTC touch pro 2, because i have an unlimited mobile browsing plan = internet free and msn live free =)

Pre vs. iPhone. iPhone was the original innovator, so of course anything that resembles it is nothing more than a copy. But an upgraded copy. Guarantee that the next iPhone will be programmed for multi-tasking like the Pre is now. iPhone 3G, no multi-tasking. For all Apple products being the simplified version of Linux, Palm one-upped them here with Pre. I am a Mac computer lover, I am an Apple customer. But Palm's WebOS and replaceable battery features alone beat the iPhone and iPhone 3G.

Went into a sprint store today and got jerked around by the store rep about people have been telling him that they will be camped out in front of the store all night. If I go into the store in the morning at 8 am when they open and they tell me that they dont have the phone then Im gonna come back home buy a unlocked blackberry storm and go over to tmobile. I have watched countless video demos on this phone as well as play with it this past weekend at the Nascar race. This phone is "off the charts" better than the iPhone. Also, for anyone who hasn't watched alot on this phone, this 26 minute video is one of the best/informative that i've seen. I'll be waiting in front of the Sprint store this saturday waiting for them to open.
This phone is way better than the iphone, at least what iv seen, i own an iphone 3g and im tired of dropping calls, because of the change from 3g to edge when am driving, maybe ill go back when verizon carries it, but for now bye bye apple, hello palm. plus you gotta love the fact that you can several live apps open, iphone cannot do that, oh and cam recorder, 2.0 megapixel, who needs visual voicemail, !!!!!!!!!
Hmm... Well we'll see what the score is when apple officially releases their 3.0 firmware along side the new iPhone later this summer. I think that's when the real comparisons can begin.

if they had copied the iphone, there would be no Copy &Paste, no multitasking, no integrated everything, no universal search, no gestures that allow you to open another app while in an app, no physical qwerty, no usb mass storage, no removable battery, no beautiful wallpaper in homepage unless if hacked(void warranty), and the list can go on and on...
Just to let eveyone know about the iphone vs this new phone by sprint first they did'nt copy the iphone, The maker of the iphone left apple and now works for palm so its not hard to think that the man who made the iphone will keep the same design in his new baby, i seen it already a friend of mine works for sprint and he got one early ( not suppose to show anybody yet) but it looks good, cant wait to get one.

i think cnet said you can't as there is no virtual keyboard for landscape. according to their review you have to turn to portrait and then type then turn back.

ok i have a major question! in such smartphones as this one, and others like the blackberry, omnia, etc. if it has wifi, do you need to have a data paln? do these phones need their own personal data plans? its so confusing help me out

if ur phone has the capabilitiy to go on the internet (without wifi) u will be charged for the use. Therefore its 'cheaper' to surf the web with a dataplan ie 20bucks for 1 gig of upload/download
however, if u umm have wifi, any downloading u do while using wifi will not be charged to u, its' 'free' as long as the source of ur wifi is free =)
imo i like the HTC touch pro 2, because i have an unlimited mobile browsing plan = internet free and msn live free =)

amazing how many people say this phone copied the Iphone. Do a bit of research before you make such comments. Iphone is a great product but I'm sure they "copied" other features from smartphones before it...*cough touch *cough. I also have to give credit to Apple for being able to market their phone so well. People really are sheep. The applications being built for the iphone is what really driving the market but I don't like the iphone based on the non qwerty keyboard alone but that's just me

Apple is a computer company that built a smart phone and Plam,Blackberry, Nokia, etc are phones companies who built phones. That's why no phone is like Iphone. To tell you the truth, the phone that will surpass the iphone, if ever, will be built by Microsoft or a computer company who is light years ahead of this crappy phone companies who keep building cheap phones to stay in business!

Pre vs. iPhone. iPhone was the original innovator, so of course anything that resembles it is nothing more than a copy. But an upgraded copy. Guarantee that the next iPhone will be programmed for multi-tasking like the Pre is now. iPhone 3G, no multi-tasking. For all Apple products being the simplified version of Linux, Palm one-upped them here with Pre. I am a Mac computer lover, I am an Apple customer. But Palm's WebOS and replaceable battery features alone beat the iPhone and iPhone 3G.

Nope, nowhere near being poor but I have a lot of common sense. Why the hek doesn't the beloved Iphone have a plan that includes unlimited text messages? Complete rip off. Sprints all data plan, text, etc with unlitmited minutes is only $190 for two phones per month compared to a ridiculous $270 a month for the FuckPhone.

I currently have a HTC Mogul and it does freaking more than an iphone. No it doesn't have 35,000 apps (which I probably only need about 10) but does everything else much better.

Went into a sprint store today and got jerked around by the store rep about people have been telling him that they will be camped out in front of the store all night. If I go into the store in the morning at 8 am when they open and they tell me that they dont have the phone then Im gonna come back home buy a unlocked blackberry storm and go over to tmobile. Sprint is a joke for even being a company.

I have watched countless video demos on this phone as well as play with it this past weekend at the Nascar race. This phone is "off the charts" better than the iPhone. Also, for anyone who hasn't watched alot on this phone, this 26 minute video is one of the best/informative that i've seen. I'll be waiting in front of the Sprint store this saturday waiting for them to open.

This phone is way better than the iphone, at least what iv seen, i own an iphone 3g and im tired of dropping calls, because of the change from 3g to edge when am driving, maybe ill go back when verizon carries it, but for now bye bye apple, hello palm. plus you gotta love the fact that you can several live apps open, iphone cannot do that, oh and cam recorder, 2.0 megapixel, who needs visual voicemail, !!!!!!!!!

Hmm... Well we'll see what the score is when apple officially releases their 3.0 firmware along side the new iPhone later this summer. I think that's when the real comparisons can begin.

Unfortunately the Touch Pro 2 is comming out for Verizon only.. I love the Touch Pro and wanted the Touch Pro 2 but i dont like Verizon.. SO i think my new choice which i think is a great phone is Palm Pre.. Go for the Palm Pre.. you should be very happy with your decision

Just to let eveyone know about the iphone vs this new phone by sprint first they did'nt copy the iphone, The maker of the iphone left apple and now works for palm so its not hard to think that the man who made the iphone will keep the same design in his new baby, i seen it already a friend of mine works for sprint and he got one early ( not suppose to show anybody yet) but it looks good, cant wait to get one.
