put there a X5 or x6 or q7 or other 80.000 euro cars and u will see the 6.000 freelander will won so schhh if u dont know anithing about offroading or other stufs...audi/bmw fans rubish car for rubish inteligence :)
Just a tiny hint: when you want to drive off a rut, don't keep your steering wheel twisted, but instead grip it at the top and turn rapidly left and right, trying to accelerate at each turn.
Nice one mate, I think you did a really good job! If you have the skill to drive a Freelander off road then go for it! As for damage I have to disagree (IMO) the under tray was having little impact - Far better than big Diff groove. Try watching Videos of Water lane and other such lanes with some scraping along the banks. @2.50 Look at the size of the branch compared to the wee Freelander, Without being there it looks like it was best avoided.
Ha. nice to see a bit of friendly banter! Freelanders aint great at getting out of ruts and thats fact.have had mine a couple of years now and had lots of fun. just ordered a 2in lift, some 16in wheels and some proper mud tyres, hoping it will help.have been VERY suprised at what they can do off road. besides the ride height and that most the time is spent rubbing the under side along the ground while in ruts, they aint bad for what was i am sure was designed for farmers wives and school runs!
@SamTheSuave, now now this is a family channel, no need for the coarse language. You are entitle to your opinion and by the looks of things those tyres won't destroy anything hence why they are trying to get out of being stuck by using momentum. Looked kind of cool too!
Not my video bub so don't come crying here. I love off roading and would hate to see lanes get closed. I have seen far worse "abuse" (if you call mild erosion abuse) like bits of car left in lanes. That is why lanes are closed.
@SamTheSuave Maybe you were never inexperienced and had no sense of adventure... maybe you are a fly tipper who is actually trying to pass off why lanes are closed (albeit not an issue in our area) on drivers like this... maybe you like horses and ride them upside down... maybe...
@UtterlyD Hmm, nice one, shit-for-brains. Fact of the matter is that the driver hasn't got a clue, and is blatantly abusing the lane. If you keep driving like that on them, it's only a matter of time before they're closed down. Posting the evidence on YouTube was a really smart move too, huh?
@SamTheSuave Wow chill out man - unless its your time of the month then i'll let you off. There is clearly No damage done to the free lane, shadow raised a good few points about the driver/landrover so dont be harsh on him, im sure that they like everyone would rather keep the lanes open then have them closed because of "pratting around" , but hey ho if you want a go why dont you maybe start on motorcross drivers who might crush an endangered bug they could'nt see due to wearing helmets !!!!
1 These were 50/50 AT tyres non aggressive tread. Soil was more like clay so tryes were more like slicks.
2 These were deep ruts with a fallen tree in the way so had to get out the ruts with said tyres and less clearance than the lifted defender (With MT tyres) not as easy
3 reversing back quite a way was not and option and attempts to tow were awkward with the space and angle.
4. Yes there was some inexperance it was 3rd or 4th time ever 4x4ing
6 the quad bikes which are also entitled to use this lane cause far more damage
7 I see you are quick to slag off another driver in another video by "DefenderOnACrusade"
8 Please keep the language clean!
9 I'm not saying this was the right or wrong way to tackle this obstacle but no damage was done to this already heavily rutted section. Check out the long version of the video as this one a one off in very small area of a lane used 99% by off road vehicles.
@Freelandrew Wasn't my clutch! :P The smell wasn't too bad, it was far worse in mine behind the red one (smelt for a week!). At the time it only had road tyres on :-/
der kann einfach icht fahren

why not just drive over the tree
MrKlown83 2 weeks ago
@MrKlown83
It was too big to go over. This was before the Freelander was lifter / modified - If it was that simple he would have done that!

@TheChemicalQuornts
Thanks for the well constructed criticism. Not everyone wants a big 4x4 to tow caravans through woods!
Granted this is not the best example of my friends Freelander in action but it gets the job done.

@evotherapist or just get a spade and digg a little channel out like a rail road

If we did that then the people who commented saying that damage was caused to the track would then have a valid point!

Guys please keep the language clean!
I don't care what your opinions are, you have the right to what you think!
(And I have the right to agree or disagree with it) :P
Remember:
Freelanders have no low range & no locking diff
Tyres in wet conditions make a BIG difference - These were cheap AT's
Lower ground clearance. Unless lifted like mine! (Not the one in this clip)
You can't select low-first and let engines torque pull you through, you need to use momentum and the TC if you come to a stop

What a prick in the Freelander. Can't drive for shit and is wrecking that lane. And then we wonder why the lanes get closed down. Dicks.
