@WickedJakyoku It was most likely a Japanese actor trying really hard to hide their accent. They pronounce the words "correctly" but awkwardly draw out certain syllables. That kind of weird, mechanical English crops up kind of a lot in anime.

@YOKO999999 So, you deny the fact that the world was at war? As I recall America was not involved in the war for only the last five years of it. Japan and Germany were starting conflicts in that part of the globe in 1936 or 37-ish. Long beofore US involvement Japan invaded China and Korea and there were numerous atrocities there. Any nation that is willing to wage war is a dangerous one. Period. It's not about blame, it's about hoping for a better future without war and destruction.

@SodaFlavour I read an article, about how a japanese historian also said that it was also the people's fault, for being stupid and believing in the war. Of course, this fact must not be taken too much as being capital. But think about how things could have been different if the cowards just as Gen's father had stood up against the war? But it's not that easy...
