  • I very much wanted to see the 1600 GT (w/o those dumbo ear bags) but it looks like I'm going to have to wait until I see them in Munich in May. The IMS show here in IL will NOT have a BMW booth. What's with that??? Anway, how big are these bikes and are they more sportier or more cruise-like in appearance in your opinion? The GT appears to be more of a sports bike than its sister??? Thanks for the video. It is much appreciated.

  • @artsbest1 It's hard to tell how big they are, I haven't ridden one but they look to me to be smaller than the K1200LT but larger than the R1200RT. The K1600GT looks much smaller to me than it should be for a bike with 6 cylinders, that's for sure!

  • what's the rotating thing on the left grip?

  • Good catch! That's the motorcycle version of the BMW iDrive, it selects the modes for traction control and I believe also the BMW electronic suspension adjustment (ESA II) and some of the other functions on the GPS/radio/Bluetooth/USB-MP3-iPod system.

  • @jillybooty That ring will most likely be the controls for the radio. at least thats how it is on the current RT models.

  • Actually, it is a new type of control that works not only the radio but some of the other settings, like ESA and traction control modes.
