Astro A40's for me, no contest IMO I'm quite interested in trying out Creative's Recon3D Omega & Sennheiser PC 360 Headset's though. I currently use the A40's with wired Mix Amp in my gaming room & the wireless Amp with A40's in the front room. I'm going to get a second monitor for my gaming room so I'll need another headset.

Trittons out bass the X41s easily, so do DPX21s. No idea why this guy is raving about the bass in the X41's, severely lacking in bass, it's just barely there at all. High end is crisp for sure in the X41s and the Trittons sound muddled compared to them. Still, no excuse for the lack of bass in the X41s. Try using a shotgun in MW3 and you'll see exactly what I mean, no punch, sounds like a pistol.

I don't get why you need a mix amp for the a40's, yes I know what it does but my xbox goes straight to my hifi amp which does 7.1 and all I need is a adaptor for the plug saving me money, and secondly why the he'll haven't astro released a a50 yet, it's been a while...

I payed 150 for turtle beach px21 and Dolby box witch sounded real good. Let me note I'm very clean an well keep so the headset was in good hands. Within 3-4 months my first ear pulled off, when looking how it was connected I was shocked. The smallest peace of plastic size of a pin head held it together. I didn't even take it off with force or nothing the ear just popped out. I had to super glue it an duct tape it to keep it together, but now can't adjust side. It wasn't to long before the the

I am going to buy the a40's and I have the ax pros and I do have to say that the build quality is shit on the ax pros I do have a fairly big head San that does factor into it, but that is no excuse for the mic failing within a week on both that I have had. As for the turtle beaches I cannot say anything because I have never used them.

AxPro's durability is terrible, two headsets have broken, one because the subwoofer in one ear cup broke and on the other, the s-video style connector pins snapped within the first week of purchase... Havent tried x41 but have tried x31 which are ok... and also astro a40's and in my opinion the a40's win hands down.

Everyone says that the turtle beaches break easily but my friends have all gone through multiple triton headsets, and they have since switched to turtles. I have an x41 and i really dont see a weak point. The mic is detachable and there are no wires that can be yanked out. Maybe people who have turtles just game too hard

i have had the x41s for about a year now, and they are still fantastic. i love the fact that they are wireless, and they are extremely comfortable. The sound quality if phenomenal and of course the bass is amazing. i got them for $140, and i think they were more then worth it, rather then spending twice the money on astros. (although i must admit i LOVE the look of the astros). and of course get rechargeable batteries if you get them, dont be a dumbass.

I bought a tritton ax pro and it didn't work properly so i returned it and got a new one. It was a great headset... until the left ear cup snapped after 3 ( Keep in mind i have a large head and the AX pros are stiff and don't shape to your head like other headsets do) months i repaired it with duct tape :) but then it wouldn't stay on after a couple of weeks and finally the wire connecting it snapped so i threw it away and bought an x11. I might buy an a40 soon but it seems too expensive

Using the Tritton myself, too many wires, speaker adjustment button pod is too high on the cable, 4 drivers per side and small size leads to poor sound quality and poor sound separation, opposite of what they're supposed to achieve.

thanks for the review man, ive been having trouble with the a40's and the trittons. reason being i thought tritton would be better sounding for the 8 speakers and thought it was a really cool feature that being said if the sound quality isnt up to par as the a40's then i would rather get the a40's with only 2 speakers. im still doing some more research but this has brought me alot closer to my conclusion. @GH03TR3C0N I just got a pair of the tritton ax pros and the surround sound is extremely nice, I can tell if someone is front right/left, center right/left, rear left/right. You can also go in and adjust the individual speaker volume for front, center and rear as well (in addition to bass)
