its your computer and no they are not virus because it is on every server.

1). Yea, those are files that the server puts on it. And it isn't a "match" per say, killing gets you in trouble usually.

2). Lua files are completley safe. They are scripts that allow to run gamemodes and sounds, etc.

3). Sometimes you need a certain map.

4). You have to download the wire tool online.

well first of all if you actually wanna play the game get a 2.0 or 3.0 GHZ CPU and motherboard and a Nivida card the plays Direct x9. if you get a CPU that is in the 1GHz it's not even worth it to play Gmod with it.

Not 100% true. Source engine utilizes multi core CPUs so a high end dual or a quad core will be better suited. A Q6600 is one of the best for its price.

GMod 11, is Standalone to an extent, though it is required to buy a Source game with it. You can buy off steam GMod 11 with Counter-strike: Source, or TF2.

GMod11 Comes with EVERY HL2 Prop, NPC, Vehicle, etc. Though, it doesn't come with Maps, or Speech. Depending on what additional Source games you have, you get additional things....

Say if you have

GMod 11

TF2

and

DoD:S

You'll get everything from HL2, TF2, and DoD:S. (Ex. Maps, and Speech on HL2, unless have HL2)

Not any more, GMod publicly updated to the orange box engine but it does not require any orange box games, it's just reccomended. To use Garry's mod all you need is one Source game, I don't think it matters which, there's a special package on steam that contains CS:S and GMod for $25 USD. But Garry's Mod by itself only costs a measly $10, well worth the money.
