I witnessed a UFO in the woods on the south coast of NSW Australia, with 2 other witnesses. The description of the 'blinking eye' light as well as the clear and red lights are EXACTLY what I saw that night. It seemed to be intelligent and moved nearly silently and was faster than anything I had ever seen. We also blinked the lights of our car and it responded by blinking back the same amount of times.

I'm a sceptic too and there are a lot of kranks out there but this incident defies logical explanations. The Home Secretary at the time described it as "disturbing". It could have simply been an electric phenomenon such as vaporized silica from the soil (after it is electrically charged or struck by lightning), or a capacitator discharged in wet soil or a pool of water. It could very well likely have been Ball Lightning, as you can see in these two videos. I'd have just been a baby at the time of the incident and didnt live in the area back then, i can say however that all the local people are quite aware of what happened and most including myself are of the opinion that something strange happened that night.

As for the americans they've left now, a pity as I used to like watching the A-10 planes fly by when camping in the forest!

closed about 10 years ago i think. I'm not sure if theres any US air bases in other parts of the country, as far as i'm aware they gradually all closed in the 90's as a result of the cold war coming to an end
