Remember the days when we didn't have youtube or ipods or CDs, when live music was the ONLY kind you had... and other than work, there was not as much to do as today. So people would get together a LOT more often, and play music and dance, and socialize in general... and in this circumstance, it's the Ceili ^_^

"fairy" is pretty much right on, a céilí traditionally is a social gathering where people sang and danced and socuialized, it has more or less become any dance festival. I actually named my daugter Céilí. traditional spelling would be Céilídh (silent dipthong at the end)

Meav isn't a choreography type of performer. She loves to interact with the audience. Because CW is set up the way it is, which isn't a bad thing, it doesn't allow for that interaction to happen. She was incredible last Dec when she toured in NY and NH. If you get a chance to see her when she tours again, do it. She loves to chat with the audience. She looks like she's having so much fun up there on her own.

There's no way they're lip synching! Remember that audio and visual are recorded sepatately, and are from two different performances, so there might be some small editing errors there. They keep changing mikes - look at the more sensitive model Lisa wears in The Blessing. And they're all wearing big transmitters - a lot of effort if it were just for show.
