  • @QueenAjali27 I try to post at least one video a week and due to my full time business It's very hard to stick to a schedule.

  • Chris,

Just want to say thanks for this recipe. The dish came out wonderful.

  • when you say the "green seasoning" are you referring to sofrito by any chance? i do have sofrito would that substitute it? it seems like the ingredients your using

  • Can I cook this in a slow cooker? If yes, how?

  • Good video. Miss Jean's at store bay in Tobago serve the sweetest stew chicken lunch on the planet!!! Rice n peas, curried lentils, macaroni pie and ground provision mmmmmm mmmmmm!!

  • i'M GOING TO TRY THIS!!

  • this is nice, adding sugar is something we dont do here in the Bahamas.. but I love it and would love to try it sometime

  • After watching this I ran home and tried my best at making it lol It came out pretty good I love the flavor the brown sugar gives it

  • A charming man!!

  • we had our christmas party this week and a carabbean lady bought some of this in for us to try i have never tasted such good chicken, and i wish to do it on my menu for christmas evening ,i found your video realy straight forward step by step instructions ,i will let you know how it turns out many thanks

  • @annmountford1946 must say it turned out amazing realy taste thankyou for showing me

  • isn't cilantro the same as shado beni? just the leaves on it is a bit different? i know they do taste the same

  • @BoldnBeautifulMakeup they're very different in appearance and strength of flavor(somewhat) The shado beni is very strong compared to the cilantro. However, cilantro is a good substitute as the flavor is very similar.

  • @caribbeanpot What I've discovered is that shado beni is the same as CUlantro (which isn't the same as CIlantro), but related and similar.

  • @Verliz CUlantro is the way my dad would call shadow beni - it's cocapayol or french creole way of calling it.

  • i burnt my fucking finger but it is came out grate :D thanks

  • looking good......going and cook mine tomorrow.

  • Wow.....thanks....

  • I just use the garlic and sugar

  • thumbs up i

  • why do you burn off the liquid and then add wate? i would think that the liquid would have some good flavour.

  • Tried it out yesterday - delicious. Thanks Chris.

  • What would you pair that dish with?

  • @ikebanaJc This is a lovely meat dish which goes well with rice, roti (breads), a salad or even mashed potatoes. One of my faves is having a side of boiled ground provisions (yams, dasheen, eddoes, cassava etc)

  • yummy

  • Now I know what I'm making for dinner. thanks

  • Thanks for making the video. I am a big fan!! Thumbs up!

  • hello love ur videos. just would like to know the recipe for the green seasonin

  • @motherwarrior2012 if you go to the main webiste at caribbeanpot (dot) com and search green seasoning you'll see the page. I can't post links here or I'd share it with you. I'll do a video in the coming weeks to show you how as well.

  • Thanks for posting. I've tried making the Trini version of stew chicken several times and it never came out quite the way I thought it should. Your video helped to clear up a few of the things that I wasn't clear on. Thanks again...can't wait to give it a try this week.

  • you missed out one ingredient bro usually you throw in at least a table spoon of cooking margarine (locally golden ray) for added flavor just a quick tip but great video

  • @locutz gotta be careful with the use of golden ray.. nice flavors.. but not too healthy. Thx for the tip.

  • @caribbeanpot i understand

  • Chris, for added flavor depth, you can throw in a couple of sticks of cinnamon. As usual, great video!

  • @Triniman50 funny you should mention that. We were on a cruise a few years back and I guess one of the head chefs was from Trinidad and Tobago, so for lunch at one of the many restaurants, we saw Chicken pelau. Our daughters went ballistic as they were craving "home" food. While eating they came across cinnamon sticks in the dish.. added a nice touch to it. Thx for the tip.

  • @caribbeanpot Hey Chris, you wouldn't believe how a simple aromatic like cinnamon would take the taste of poultry to the next level.. Tip: the next time you bake a whole chicken, place one stick inside the chciken's cavity and the other just under the sink. The result, a bake chicken to die for :-) Keep those videos coming...

  • i love it

  • trinidagonian? who says that it is trini or trinidadian.

  • @rostant999 Trinbagonian. Inclusion of both our islands.

  • @caribbeanpot i am from trinidad too and grew up in canada like you. what you said is more correct just you are the first person i ever heard say that. are you originally from tobago? love the recipes i need to try these out. can you show how to make kuchela (great on fried egg sandwiches or roast port) and dahl puri (my favourite) and curried goat or duck.

  • @rostant999 Don't recall saying I was Tobago, but the audio can be a bit mumbled at times.. very hard to record, cook and concentrate at times so sometimes my words are not as clear as they should be. Hopefully with the channel getting so popular, I'll be able to afford some help soon. thx for the support.

  • Beautiful, thank you for this......yummy yummy. I was given a Dutch Pot by a friend who brought one back from Trinidad. It's very heavy and ideal for cooking food like this.......

  • Beautiful, thank you for this......yummy yummy

  • So you don't put any english potatoes with the stew??

  • @trinigirlgeek36 Sorry.. no. Traditional stew chicken does not have potatoes as far as I could remember.

  • Where can i get a pot like that. Been looking. You need a pot like that to make dishes like this.

  • @metatuem let me know where you're based and I'll get some sources for you.

  • @metatuem that is called a caldero

  • My first attempt failed so this video will surely help. Cannot wait to try it. Thanks for sharing!

  • Where can I find the written recipe?

  • This is such a yummy dish!
