This is fantastic!! I can play 104b no 1 but I would love to learn this! I would appreciate if anyone could listen to my videos and comment on it! Cheers!
Rachman could do anything and always with lightness what he didnt have was Hofmann's flair but we must not dare compare. God,this is awful music(to me)and this is wht they liked untilthe 1930's or so.Chopin musta been hardgoing for people to listento then! not even cutesyMendellsohn true greatand genius and able to do it all.those pianoconcerti (oh dear)an ability to really speak for his era'sC H A R M .Sorta like SaintSaensfor anearly period butSS wrote lotsa piano music I LIKE .GO FIGURE!
This sounds like some kind of perpetual motion piece. Or at least it´s played like that but in great way.

Nice! (And remember, that when Rachmaninoff was born, Mendolsohn had only been dead about thirty some years!

It's really different from Horowitz's performance, but both are excellent in their own way.
Rachmaninov is more gentle ^^

Extraordinary. And, BTW, you will not hear this "tone" on any piano roll.

Playing ahead of the beat with Accelerando.
Good luck finding musicians to do that in the past 60 years. And,what do you know? It captures the feeling fabulously.
