  • yahh, its running really low temperatures even with the stock fan ;)

  • did he use stock cooler?

  • Comment removed

  • Atm running stable at 3.9ghz ;) 58c Full load and 44-49c in idle here's my specs:

Ati hd 4670 1gb(I know i need better one ;)

    4 gigs of ddr3

    Win7 Ultimate 64bit

    500gb 10000rpm and 2tb 5400rpm HDD's

  • Hi are this processor better for gaming thanks.

  • @SuperHyperGaming Intel for gaming. Unless you get a Phenom II X3 or X4, even an Intel Pentium G620 is better.

  • @megamanxtreme2 intel for modeling and rendering, amd for gaming

  • @313hummer Yeah, you can tell that to all the benchmarking sites that show Intel having amazing amount of frames on the i3 - i7 line. Even the i3 would get more frames than Phenom II X6 1100T. I must admit that Intel is winning there, although I am an AMD fanboy. Also, the i5 Sandy Bridge leaves the X8 BullDozer in the dust on many games, so it just concludes your opinion to have some wrong.

  • @megamanxtreme2 my friend..look ..go to hardwaresecrets . com article/AMD-FX-8150-vs-Core-i5-2500K-and-Core-i7-2600K-CPU-Review/1402/6 amd for gaming ..intel for performance

  • @313hummer That's one of the many sites I go to. Actually, I have friends with iCores and Phenom II cores. The Intel processors give out more frames but they start to die out fast, like Nvidia. AMD processors and videocards hold ground at higher resolutions, less drop.

  • @megamanxtreme2 yes i know mate i was just messing around with ya :P lol i thought you would of realized it because of the site i showed you..but until amd comes out with a new cpu that has better architecture intels going to be in the lead

  • @313hummer Speaking of AMD. My friend wanted to get AMD Phenom II X6 1100T, but opted for the Bulldozer 3.6. I am telling him to hold on until the 10-Core PileDriver come out. What do you think? His current processors are the Phenom II X4 975, very fast. He had a core off, so he enabled it on the BIOS, 30% faster then on. XD

  • @megamanxtreme2 Opted, in my case, means that he changed his mind and is wanting to get the BullDozer, but he hasn't bought yet.

  • @megamanxtreme2 honestly my friend..he should just go with the bulldozer 3.6 10 cores are a little extreme for todays programs..unless hes REALLY hard core lol

  • @313hummer He wants the best, I am happy to advice him. As for me, I am going for the Intel Celeron G530s at least. I don't need more power than that.

  • @megamanxtreme2 whyyyy at least get a pentium dual core!

  • @313hummer Money, it's too expensive. Well, I can go for at least an Intel Pentium G620, as long as it's Sandy Bridge.

  • @megamanxtreme2 hmm very true..my last comment was deleted lmfao..but i was actually going to buy that but instead i bought an ii x2 you get more power for about the same price

  • @313hummer If you are referring to the clock frequency, okay. I wouldn't mind a 3.2GHz Dual-Core over a 2.6Ghz, so I wouldn't mind going for a DC AMD.

  • @megamanxtreme2 yerp

  • @megamanxtreme2 and i am an intel fanboy..i just moved to amd athlon ii x2...and it was ALOT faster than my core 2 duo

  • i got mine up to 3.6GHz, dont have a gpu yet cause i dont wanna bottle neck it

  • @jamalakj nice

  • @Gamez4eveR yes it will, try a triple core or a quad core, if you dont have money try your local craigslist

  • Will this OCed @ 3.5GHz bottleneck a sapphire HD6770?

  • Q: i overclocked this cpu @ 3.45 just by raising the bus speed to 230 and all is set to auto i didn't change the voltage, its pretty stable,.. is this the right way or is it ok? btw my idle temps is around 26-28 and my full load is 35c , i bought an after market cooling just a simple one, DEEPCOOL BETA 200st

    this is my spec

    amd athlon ii 250 3.0ghz oc @3.45

    mobo: msi 880GM-E43

    kingston value ram ddr3 1333 2gb

    HDD seagate barracuda 500gb 7200rpm

  • ok all admit it i don't know anything about AMD but dose this sound like a good computer? im really just looking to play current games at mid but i have no idea what this would be capable of.

    • AMD Athlon™ II X2 250 CPU

    • Liquid CPU Cooling

    • 4GB DDR3 1600 Memory

    • NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 1GB

    • 1TB 7200RPM SATA-III HDD

    • 24X Double Layer DVD +/-RW

  • @sirvulcan12 If you change that GeForce 520 for a 550 ti gtx then you will have a great setup for gaming.

  • I pushed this cpu to 3.6 GHZ stable and Im very sure it can reach 4 GHZ I just did not want to risk it as I dont have a spare. However I am using a am3 motherboard and 1333 mhz ram so with lower speed ram i doubt you could push it as far as I did. Great Budget CPU I have yet to find a game I cannot play on max settings.

  • Is this processer good for black ops?

  • @yiopply not stable 60+fps

  • This cpu runs perfectly with my old gigabyte ga-m57sli-s4 am2 mobo :)

Btw got it on 3,2 and its enough for me

  • Hey whats up I'm trying to overclock my CPU to maximum how do I do that. and I just want to know if GTA $ will run smoothly on my PC if i overclock the cpu to max. My PC specs are:

    AMD Phenom II X2 511 dual-core processor

    3.40GHz, 2MB L2 Cache

    5GB DDR3 SDRAM system memory

    750GB SATA hard drive

    Graphics card : GIGABYTE|GV-N220OC-1GI GT220

  • @khaled401 dude i play cod black ops in 2 gb ram core i3 and intel GMA 1GB graphics so y wont gta work????

  • @lookatthistutorial are you asking me because GTA 4 is not working for you or are you saying that black ops is a bigger game then GTA 4 and GTA 4 will work fine on my PC?

  • Goof Review, thanks

  • i have problem with this amd processor cuz it comes an error when i play lineage 2

please go to my chanel and watch the video with lineage 2 negative delta time and reply soon

  • i have just over clocked this cpu to 3.5ghz and thats with stock fan + heatsink and sits around 25c on idle and around 31c on load which is amazing on stock fan as it is quite small. and i highly recommend this cpu+ heres a good gpu shappfire hd5670 both amazing togeter.

  • how can i overclock my processor ive got the same one ass on this video

  • im thinking of replaceing the desktop im useing now with this and a new mobo and ram etc. im going from an OLD amd athlon 64 3400+. do you think this will be better for me? i dont do gaming because i have an asus gaming laptop fo rthat.

  • Hey man I got two questions and I'd appreciate it if I got some answers,

I dont know jack shit about computers so please give me some noob answers xD

what does overclock mean? will the computer work extra hard if u overclock it?

and I wonder does the computer noise alot? at night I dont wanna wake any neighbours up if u kno what I mean lol.

by the way is the computer worth 450 USD, ( they told me it was a great deal )

  • im building a new pc - and just bought this cpu as it was under 60 bucks - and seeing this review im glad i bought it - btw im using on a asus m3a77td main board

  • im thinking about getting this CPU with this graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT240 1GB can anyone tell me if this will be good for a gamer??

  • @acidtripz1 Get a quadcore for gaming, thats more future-proof.

Apart from that, this graphics card sucks.

  • @acidtripz1 Good for the old games but not for the games today. Take a HD 5770 (very good for the price) and i3 540 CPU + 2GB

  • can this work on an am2+ ?

  • @LJJ23ARSRUL

Yes, but make sure search your motherboard on Google.

  • what do i use to owerclock it? :S

  • @downhillproductions5 To overclock a multiplier locked CPU (not black edition) you need to increase the HT Reference Clock (sometimes shown as FSB). This Athlon II 250 has its multiplier locked at 15. The clock speed comes from HT Reference Clock X CPU mutliplier, so 200 x 15 = 3000MHz. If you increase the HT Reference Clock the clock speed goes up. 240 x 15 would give you 3600MHz. It's hard to explain everything else in a comment, check YouTube for some guides :)

  • @Aaronage1 well i cannot find any guides at youtube. if any one could link an program to overclock with.

  • Overclocked this CPU to 3.9GHz. Stable and I haven't touched the voltages yet. It's goes to about 45C at full load. Using only an Arctic Cooling 64 Pro. Cute little chip.. :) Gigabyte GA-770TA-UD3 mobo

  • @kzone75 how? please i wanna overclock mine but i don't understand the "BIOS TUTORIALS" :(

i wanna have smoother FPS in GTA 4, i use HD 5770 XXX 5.2GHz. plz reply

  • @wowaccpass

you won't benefit much anyway.... I have mine at 3.7Ghz and it made very little difference in GTA4. GTA4 really only works well on quad cores......

  • Comment removed

  • WOW faster than an E8400 that cpu is still about 140 euro's ove here and this one is only 54 euro's here that is just CRAZY

  • mine does not over clock .. how can i do it

  • this is what i got and it good i think

  • very good cpu it is 10x beter then my old x2 4200+ cpu :D

  • hahaha an Athlon II X2 250 @ 3.3Ghz owned an E8400 which costs 200 bucks or so XD.

    AMD FTW

  • I <3 athlon ii x2 series cpu's

  • It isn't PCWizKid recommended :(?

  • thanks! great vid!

  • can i play crysis max settings with this processor?

  • i know this is a newb question but can u unlock the 2 cores?

  • @Realeftawhileago This processor doesn't have any cores to unlock. This isn't like some of the other Athlon 2s that were really Phenoms with locked cores and cache. It's an actual dual core.

  • i overcloked it on 3,5 ghz and it works great

  • can i use the standard cooler came with the processor to oc it? please tell me if its ok or fine or not

  • @kingbords yes you can its only a 65 watt cpu you should be able to get about 3.4ghz with the stock cooler. If you want to try and push it faster then get another cooler. I have this CPU in an office computer and with the stock cooler at stock clock speeds it never gets over 37c with a crappy case,

  • @workensmart can u tell me how to overclock it in bios? i got the msi mobo 785gm p45 or can i use the oc switch on it? thanks btw

  • @kingbords look on PCWizKid's channel he has a 3 part video on overclocking.

  • @workensmart Agreed, I've overclocked to 3.4 GHz with stock cooler and core temperature is 42 C max, running prime95, also in a budget case. Personally, I think that this is a great result for a £45 processor.

  • Is this CPU better than the E6500 From InteL?

  • Is this CPU better then the Intel E6500 2.93GHZ?

  • i hve that cpu, and i overclocked it to 3.525ghz..

what is the stable voltage for that? pls reply.. anyone..

  • Nice CPU i will buy it :D

    PS:DRAM frequency 666 xD

  • u didnt use the cooler came with this when u overcloked it right?

  • can i run this on ASUS M2N68 MOBO, w/ geforce 210 GPU 1gb and 2gb ddr2 800 RAM normally? can i play high settings on Assassin's Creed, GTA IV, L4D2? pls reply.. plannin to upgrade... from amd athlon 64 3800+ to this CPU and my mobo.

  • @cis2lok14 Yeah this cpu would be perfect with your mobo. I checked newegg.com for the info about your mobo and everything should go great! You might not be able to get a high fps on Assassin's Creed with high settings, maybe 25-35fps. I would go for it!

  • @arcadefirerocks tnx for the info, but i change the mobo to m4a78=vm.

btw, cn i overclock it up to 3.405Ghz w/ stock cooler and the temp is at 56°.

is it normal? or should i decrease the frequenzy?

    tnx in advance.

  • @cis2lok I don't think so. It might become unstable. I did that with my cpu and it did not run well. Remove the overclock, buy a retail cooler, stableize the temp, and re-overclock. If the temp 56C at full load, you can keep the overclock, but get a better cooler as fast as posible. If that temp is at idle, don't even run your computer without removeing the overclock. It's too unsafe at high temps.

  • @PCWizKid can i run this on asus m2n68 mobo w/ geforce 210 1gb 128bit, and 2gb ddr2 800 memcard.??

  • I just bought this, now i need to overclock it. I know i have to go into Bios and change the Voltage and MHz to something higher than it already is. Im waiting for your reply only. Could you tell me what you did? I have good knowledge about computers. I'm only a noob on processors and overclocking.

Again im waiting for your reply only. How much should i raise the Voltage & MHz?

  • @Hamzawax dont increase the voltage unless you are going to push it over 3.4Ghz

  • w00ttttt imma get this

  • is AMD Phenom II X4 810 2.6GHz Processor better than this ?

  • good cpu, using it for 2 month, only good opinion

  • u got some mint reviews man, beter than most of the guys on utube =)

  • I have this CPU

  • Very good all-around CPU.

  • I want to oc mine to 4ghz its at 3.5ghz at the moment but im on stock cooling so is it possilbe to get it to 4 or should i buy watercooling firsT?

  • @PureOxCash just a better air cooler should do. but a good chipset on your mobo would help too. so an AMD 7 series or better.

  • @nelizmastr i got AsRock n68c-s i think

  • @PureOxCash I have the same chipset, but I use a X2 245. I can push it to 3.3Ghz on stock voltage. on stock cooling, you shouldnt go over 3.6Ghz on the 250, but you will have to increase voltage about 50mV

  • @nelizmastr i dont have to increase the voltage my mobo has a thing where it sais 10% 3.1ghz and so on

  • @PureOxCash thats OC yes. but overvoltage has to be done manually.

  • great cpu.been using it for the past 5 months :D

  • What do you use to get the stats?

  • ok now i m confused whether some of my friends say amd gets hot after a period of time is this true ?? and by hot they means very hot and amd sucks...

  • @DeAmoN9TaileDFoX They have bad fans. With a good cooler it will stay cool.

  • I have an AMD Athlon II X2 250 on an eMachine motherboard but CPU-Z is only showing 1607.3 MHz. Am I missing something? Yours is @ 3000+MHz. Hope to hear from you PCWizKid!

  • where can i download that blue cursor

  • Hello Nice Video Can you please do a video on how to correctly OC this processor. (A step by step video)

Also can this processor's 2 cores be unlocked as well?

    Thanks

  • hey i can run crysis on my sytem at about 15 fps sempron 140 bfg 210 msi k9 g well i want to swich cpu :D will it make sysem better

  • would the athlon X 2 245 (2.9ghz) be good with 4 gigs of ocz ddr3 ram and radeon hd 5700

  • @jordan0089 very good

  • @jordan0089 yes that is my config

  • It's pretty nice!

  • My current motherboard supports Athlon 64 X2, what if I put this into it, would it work?

  • Can i replace my old Athlon 64 X2 3800 with this?

  • @DimebagCFH4Life thats what I wanna know.

  • @DimebagCFH4Life no because the new socket is am3

  • ive got the X2 245, runs at 3.3Ghz with a max temp of 42C. all stock cooling. Im gonna try to get it to 3.5Ghz

  • Hi.........I'm trying to decide whether to go for the Athlon X2 245 (2.9 Ghz) or the 250 (3.0 GHz).

Is it worth it to splash the extra cash for the X2 250? This is from the perspective of a gaming rig which I am now assembling. Thanks

  • @bajangirlzman you should take x2 250. it has only (IN Jimm's Pc Store ( Fin ) about 10 euros diffent so it about 15 dollars (?)

  • whats an am3 socket and how do i no if i have one?

  • does an am3 cpu work on a am2/am2+ motherboard?

  • @xhimiz14 yes

  • @Mysteoa i have an old mobo ( foxconn a6vmx), at their website it says it supports a dual core. i wonder if it would support a phenom quad core with a bios update???? plz can u answer??? it is an am2+ mobo!

  • @xhimiz14 You have a Am2+ socket whit support AM3 CPUs, but you will need a bios update. Since it supports AM3 CPU's, so it means it support all the AM3 CPU even the Phenom. If you are going for a bios update be extremely careful because if something happen during the update your PC won't start( you will have to buy a new mobo). So it's better if someone that knows how it is done or someone qualified. I recommend of buying AM3 CPU, for future upgrading the motherboard, you won't need a new CPU.

  • @xhimiz14 i think it works with am2+, not with am2

  • Thanks for this vid :P really informative and gave definitive info about where it stands with others, cheers!

  • is this better than intel?

  • I'm thinking of buying this cpu. I'm not gonna overclock it immediately, but I've seen reviewers overclocking this processor to 3.9 Ghz which is amazing for it's price.

The other cpu I'm comparing it to is the Athlon X4 620, but in several situations, the 250 was actually faster (while it's cheaper).

  • @dorlandosonic hows that possible :O?? that its faster

  • @mrbest20

Because the dual core is clocked higher and when the x4, clocked at slower speed, isn't using the 2 extra cores, it's slower then the dual core.

  • nice man :) now i can choose :) thx :)

  • could I get this processor if my fsb would be (only) 1000mhz? and does the speed of the fsb affect to the maximum speed of the memory and/or gpu? I'm just about to build my first computer and I am kinda n00b :D

  • it should run fine, but performance will be lower. i would recommend saving up for a new motherboard, or overclocking.

  • My new EMachine has this processor. I'm glad it performs well.. now I'm running a Geforce 6500 pci express.. wonder if I should upgrade that further?

  • why on earth would you have a 6500 in a new pc? didn't the emachine come with a 3200 built in or something?

  • naw it came with an integrated geforce 6150 se.. isn't that not nearly as good? I've been out of the knowledge loop as far as new graphics cards go.. probably since the 3dfx Voodoo 2000 came out.. LAWL!!

  • i forgot, its an emachine. of course it came with an nvidia chipset from 5 years ago :\, If you plan on any real gaming, i would really suggest upgrading. a gt 240 would do nicely!

  • Would I be able to run Empire: Total war with this CPU?

  • Yes.

  • When i start CPU-Z with this CPU it goes down to 800MHz and when i minimize CPU-Z it goes back to 3000MHz a little while...

  • @Fearsound thats coolnquiet

  • ya disable cool n' quiet and it will be consistent

  • Intel® Pentium® T3000 - 1,80 GHz or a AMD Athlon II - 2 GHz ?

I heard AMD doesn't last long... Is it true ??

  • AMD EVER!!!!

Pentium D is an Celeron with 2 core =S

  • @Markcy1989

Pentium D is Core 2 Duo with less Cache!

    _________________

    AMD unprocessed

  • Exactly what I said is an Celeron =P

Top processor with less cache = Celeron.

    AMD EVER

  • |@PersiaTeddy95

    Atlon II better !!

  • Does the AMD Athlon II X2 250 run Full HD videos?

    thanks for answering

  • Unless you have some absurdly low amount of RAM, I can give you a fairly confident yes.

  • @alicizmar

So 4 GB of DDR2 should be enough? :D

  • Yup, and if you have a fairly modern video card (or even some newer onboard) it's all but in the bag.

  • @RimonKing

    xDDDD stupid!

all directx 10 video cards run full HD

  • @1mper1alGuardsMen

well actually i think, a good cpu is needed as well.

so in the instructions of my camcorder they talk only about required CPUs, not GPU.

    greets from germany (;

  • lol

  • thanks for the review

  • can i put this processor on mi ASUS M2N-MX SE mother board? please reply!!! :)

  • google is your friend ;-)

it´s a am3 socket cpu, so that mobo needs to have a am3 socket.

  • @PCargGAMES No it won't. There are AM2+ mobos that support AM3 cpu but this one is too old

  • so i can run a GT 240 1GB

  • what would be a good motherboard and a video card for this? Something not expensive

  • @warikplaya, I posted all that information you are looking for on my website under the gaming rig section under reviews.

  • @PCWizKid

how do i check my motherboard and how do i know if this would fit,

  • @ooFLooDoo Check the manuel, or the website you bought the motherboard from. There should be a list of cpu it can support. If you have socket AM3 just about any AM3 cpu will work. But just to be safe, check the list of supported cpus. It'll be easier then returning the cpu or upgrading your bios.

  • @PCWizKid Hey I need help if my motherboard is nvidia geforce 7025 630a and video board ati hd 5450 2 gb ram ,the motherboard will take some rams:-s?1.25 gb ram from 2 or something like that????

  • Athlon II is a very good processor, and cheap.

  • Finally a decent cpu that isn't over priced, AMD always have good prices.

  • very cheap cpu.bought it and no regrets whatsoever

  • i have this procesor and its awesome, no ned for overclock cause i have no problem runing games it does 60+ fps in cod4 maxed out whit 4 GB ram and graphics card is xfx 5750 512mb

  • I just got mine for 75.95

    And I love it.

  • why if your ram is 1600mhz does the dram show alot less? could you help me understand that?

  • i got mine for 80 bucks very cheap.

  • which cpu stress test did you use?

  • @hermanoguzman, prime95 was the tool I used.
