While it would be nice to have my state become its own county again, there would be to many problems with that idea. First, the US wouldnt allow it, Second, Mexico would jump on the oppurtunity to get its old land back. Third, to many dumbasse's live here.

Secession is VERY American. In the early 19th century, the entire modern-day New England came extremely close to seceding. There was no discussion on whether or not they had the right to, much less the act itself being treasonous.

Texas should first print it's own currency. The U.S. Dollar is fading away and there is NO law that prohibits the creation of a separate currency. cities in the east have already started this to boost the local economy and it works. Back the new Texas currency with precious metals and sit back and watch the rest of the country run to the new Texas Dollar. It would be amazing to see this happen in the next few years. With the population and economy I am sure that it would make heads turn.
Texas is ethnically diverse, with the majority being White, with a big Mexican minority, African-American and even quite a few Native Americans also. It has a lot of land, its the biggest state in the US mainland. Its rich, it has a lot of resources. Texas has a very unique culture compared to all the other states in the US. If Texas were to secede, I think it'd be a very successful nation.

Maybe Texas needs to set an example of how a secession would work in the modern world. If Texas becomes successful after the secession then the other states would follow. I HAVE A QUESTION: I live in east Texas; are people buying up ammo in other parts of the south or other parts of the country like they are here? I went to 5 different gun shops here and they are 90% empty on pistol rounds and most rifle rounds. Looks like someone just wiped the shelves clean. And it's not from lack of supply, the owners say their sales have gone 4x or 5x in the last few months and they can't keep enough in stock. Maybe this thing is bigger than I thought...weird.

Texas should first print it's own currency. The U.S. Dollar is fading away and there is NO law that prohibits the creation of a separate currency. cities in the east have already started this to boost the local economy and it works. Back the new Texas currency with precious metals and sit back and watch the rest of the country run to the new Texas Dollar. It would be amazing to see this happen in the next few years. With the population and economy I am sure that it would make heads turn.

Texas is ethnically diverse, with the majority being White, with a big Mexican minority, African-American and even quite a few Native Americans also. It has a lot of land, its the biggest state in the US mainland. Its rich, it has a lot of resources. Texas has a very unique culture compared to all the other states in the US. If Texas were to secede, I think it'd be a very successful nation.

Maybe Texas needs to set an example of how a secession would work in the modern world. If Texas becomes successful after the secession then the other states would follow. It usually comes from Vermont actually. After the revolution, Vermont was it's own nation for a few years, like Texas. So it's not just that they are politically different than other states(very liberal, while Texas is very conservative) but they've always had an "independence" streak.

Im from Dallas Tx, and I think these are all legitimate points about seccesion, and the state is over bloated with Mexican Immagrants, and IF this was to ever happen i would want to know HOW we could stop THEM, and yes the "Free World", would probly say 'OMG NO THEY DIDNT', but wtf are they gonna do if we go and invade Mexico? Obama has his army in...o were wwas that? Middle East?

to explain: apart from point of sale taxes which are perfectly legitimate within the spirit and letter of the constitution, a perpetual tax on property establishes state ownership. individuals have the right to own property. but requiring a continual tax to retain "ownership" defies the very notion of ownership and establishes instead, a landlord-tenant relationship between the entity levying the tax and the person so taxed. it is in fact a fiefdom and we become tenant farmers...peasants.

was just discussing this phenomenon with some of my fellow texan ! we used to get laughed at just for mentioning the notion of secession. now it's a thought that is alive in the hearts of texans. many are beginning to see the light & discuss it in the open. we have the right to change our government! i want to make sure we get this in the discussion: property tax is an even greater evil than income tax! we need to include property tax in our list of things to excise.. if we do secede.

I HAVE A QUESTION: I live in east Texas; are people buying up ammo in other parts of the south or other parts of the country like they are here? I went to 5 different gun shops here and they are 90% empty on pistol rounds and most rifle rounds. Looks like someone just wiped the shelves clean. And it's not from lack of supply, the owners say their sales have gone 4x or 5x in the last few months and they can't keep enough in stock. Maybe this thing is bigger than I thought...weird.

The idea of "secession" in today's modern world is the ultimate bitch-slap to globalization! A country demanding their independence goes against the globalists core belief that supranational blocks are the way of the future. Surely, if states start demanding secession, it would greatly pist-off the criminal elite, since they are planning on establishing a North American Union very soon. LETS PUT OUR HEARTS INTO THE SECESSION OF AT LEAST ONE STATE: AND LET IT BE TEXAS!!!!!

well, I wouldn't be surprised if the third republic* of texas annexes other nearby states fed up with the tyranny in washington. lets see, there's new mexico, oklahoma, arkansas, and louisiana all bordering texas. Also, I live in SW Colorado and there are a lot of Texans living out here so they would want have colorado be a part of the third texas republic.
