DO WE KNOW WHAT LED TO HIS DOWNFALL IN F1!? IT WAS HIS STUPID CAR IN ITALY 2008, WHEN IT COULDN'T SELECT 1ST GEAR!!!! AND HE QUALIFIED IN 4TH!! IF HIS CAR SELECTED 1ST GEAR, HE WOULD BE IN RED BULL WITH VETTEL RIGHT NOW! >:O
Bourdais is one of the most talented Drivers in the world, but in F1 he had no luck. But now he´s in the Peugeot Le Mans Team, and I think its a good Job for him. He drove on Pole in Le Mans, won a few Races with Peugeot and he´s happy there. I think the F1 was the wrong place for him.
He showed in this race how good he is. Was 4th until the final laps shower. At Monza was 4th in the grid and had bad luck, but was the fastest man in the race except from Kimi. He could've won that race and things would've been different.
Bourdais got shafted in F1. 4 straight champ car titles where he beat some former f1 pilots too.
When he was racing Toro Rosso Vettel always got better parts for his car because Vettel had come through the Red Bull program. And in 2009 he didn't have a competitive car because Toro Rosso was always late copying Red Bull's aero and always took a few more races to have the same parts.
thing i love the most about this video is, he actually says he could have done a better job in one section of the track, yet it was still his fastest lap. sign of a true driver right there.
Since when was Bourdais a fail in F1? Sure Vettel outshined him. But so what? Bourdais held his own in F1. The real noobs are Yuji Ide and Nelson Piquet.
I mean when toro rosso replaced Bourdais with Algusuari did results get better? HECK NO. Algusuari proved what a great job Bourdais was actually doing in such a crap team like toro rosso
how is nelson piquet a noob, he was another driver who was treated unfairly, and Briatore could have killed Piquet if he wanted to, thats how agressive he is
@MaxRF Well theres no such thing as a bad pilot in my opinion . Just bad cars in formula 1. Sebastian also had a great race here, a track that seperates the men from boys. This is a great lap but its toro rosso lol.
@keytek9 No Vettel was very fortunate with his win alot of his main challengers were barried in the field and the toro rosso was pretty good in 2008 even without vettels win they beat like 4 or 5 other teams in the constructors.
@MaxRF i dont think so. buemi is about to probally make a big stepp to RBR and then jaime would be #1 driver which leaves a seat open for the very talented daniel ricciardo
@famv7 he doesn't need a chance to show anything! he's already a champ car championship winner... who needs to be successfull in f1? In F1 you have no chance to get in a good position if you're driving a poor car. In champ car all cars are pretty the same so... in my opinion a champ car title shows the skill of a driver more than a F1 title
Bourdais always complained with the car. Another reject of Franz Tost. Buemi seems to do be doing the job. Alguersuari not bad for a non-GP2 racer pre-F1.
I am a Toro Rosso fan, and I tell you I like Bourdais. I think he´s a great driver, better than Algersuari. He beat Vettel at Spa in qualifying, was in Q3 in many races in 2008 and was very unlucky. Remember Melbourne, Monza or Fuji. And he has a really great english, such a smart guy.
awesome driver, as good as or better than a third of the current field. Good guy, too, certainly deserves another chance!

Romain Grosjean's MATECH Ford GT finished, NO crying.

Put Bourdais in a nice car and he'll get good results. He was treated unfairly in his time in F1.

People talks about "he's a noob, we ain't gonna miss ya" and stuff, but I bet no one of you guys could take a chance racing ANYTHING with him.
Anyway, such a great lap, epic race, bad luck for him, though. He deserves another chance.

what i hate is people syaing that he wasn't given a chance HE HAD TWO YEARS he was talented but not in an f1 car
lukeperrin123456 2 years ago
Yes two years but two different cars. 2008 then he has to drive 2009 car after only year. He wasn't give a chance. He was also unlucky many times.
jraybay 2 years ago
Look how much he steered in Eau Rouge, the car kept in the inside a long time, very differently from another drivers.
The latteral force probably was more than 5Gs.
Bourdais beated Vettel in Spa last year in qualy and race, but the rain in the final ruined his result.
Ferrari should kick Badoer and put a proper Spa driver like Bourdais.
