  • hi ive got the LED version of the accenta it is a really good alarm very affordable got it fitted with my housing assosiation :):)

  • Rav

Would you be able to tell me how you have connected up the smoke detectors to the panel please.

    Thankyou in advance

  • Hmm, I guess smaller domestic intruder alarms cannot use FSL method of wiring? Aka. resistor method.

    CCL only?

I have only installed 8-40 zone system panel with MsNodes, and you could take two zones through one six core and wire the power in parallel if the detectors were close to each other.

  • could i use one of thopse LCD keypads on my optoma panel?....im getting really confused because the manual dosnt really say. But there are connections for one inside the panel.

  • @lcassell94 I'm not too sure. It's been a few years since I used one last so I can't remember. I think you can use the led or lcd rkp and the simple set reader as far as I remember. Check though.

  • What terminals does fire alarm devices connect to?

  • Can U do a more better vid like 720p from your ipad 2 pllz becuase i am gettong and i would like to n oif its good or not would u rate it /10

  • I think all speech dialers are the same really.

  • Instead of spending money on a speechdialler buy a tripod for your camera, feel quite sea sick.

As for the panel being cheaper than a dialler thats because its the cheapest ungraded panel on the market.

  • @woolybobs I'm sure you'll manage... Panels been replaced anyway with a texecom excel

  • i have g3

  • thanks for your help

  • how do you turn thr g4 accenta with out buying a back up battery

  • @ryan902009 That doesn't make sense? The accent G4 doesn't need a backup battery, it can work on mains independently. The battery is only there in case of a power cut. If there isn't a battery or if it's faulty the system will shut down.

  • @brownguyrav2007 but this doesn't come with a power supply so what do i do

  • @ryan902009 it does! Inside the two White coverplates there is a transformer (square metal box!) and there's a small terminal box where you screw in some mains cable that is linked to the buildings mains supply.

  • @brownguyrav2007 whats a intruder alarm

  • @realmarshmallow seriously? you dont have a clue what a intruder alarm is?! its a alarm that protects your home from thieves

  • hi can you help?

i have the temp light on continously on.. i did the walk in test. the only zone not working is zone 2.

i've stripped the cables many times. thanks in advance!

    could you help me please

  • what would be the likely problem that causes my intruder to go into tamper lockout each time i press the reset button

  • @kheribezzy18 There is a number of things that can lead to/cause a tamper issue. Check the following if you feel up to it:

End station Lid is secured correctly

Keypads are correctly and tightly fastened to the backplates

    ALL SENSORS are seated correctly

External SIREN isnt damaged or loose from the wall (tamper switch)

If you have wires running under carpets then they could have worn down the insulating sheath which damages the cable.

  • I use a Menvier SD1+ speech dialer on my Accenta mini G3 it Works allright, when i move ill make a video of it in action unless iv allready got one on here

  • Ive just recieved my Gen4 Optima Compact today. I dont know why the zones are not setting! And can you use an ordinary call point to the system?

  • have you set the:

    1) system flags

    2) whether the zones are actually functional (obvious)

    3) whether they are WIRED correctly. Remember that intruder alarms are NC

  • I went through the manual and attempted to do the system flags. Cos im made a complete mess i powered it down completely then up again. The fire zone 7 went straight into alarm, typed in the defualt code but cant reset it. Then the defualt code dosnt work.

  • how have you managed to mess up one of the most lowest end panel?!!! I will guide you through it. Send me a PM

  • its fine now...i think. i got the fire zone working and my PIR working! just common sense needed lol!

  • On PCB i used metal clip to join the keypad TAMP and T A is it correct? i send to 3 picture from e-mail

  • that isnt right, you should use 6 wires from your keypad that go into your control panel. Just reet the whole panel and start from scratch. On the side of the PCB where you wire the zones there should be a link in "PA" and "SET", remove the PA link, then you wire your PA button in there. Then you put a link into TAMP and 0V which is near the internal speaker terminals, make sure you have a speaker connected

  • This is LCD keypad, not connected to fire alarm and the auto dailler is directly to the panel when it is attack the bell on and then the dailler will send out the message.

At the walk test, I pressed the PA buttom is 1 but no bell on at program set when it is detected (keypad, bell & strobe fuse OK). And also the RKP PA is not working at program set or walk test.

On PCB i used metal clip to join the TAMP and TA is it correct?

  • you're not making sense. The PA button is NOT connected to a ZONE. It is conneted to a SPECIAL PA circuit. The sounder should work, I dont know why it isnt.

  • last week i bought the Accenta Mini Gen4 8EP407N and follow the engineer"s manual to install everything ok but RKP PA AND Panic buttom not working .Following the picture (engineer's manual ) 2 wire connect to panic buttom and then connected to the PA circuit is ok .the walk test is detector panic buttom is 1 and then go to test outputs PA is on and then go to Flag 1 , silent PA is No and RKP PA is yes but try to test panic buttom ,bell not on. what happen .pls solve this problem ,thank you

  • Pm me and word it clearly!

    1) Remove the wiring from panic button and just twist them together, there should be no lockouts, disconnect the two wires and the alarm should sound.

    2) Is internal sounder working? No=Check the fuses inside the end station.

    3) Refresh the WHOLE panel by defaulting it to factory and I will give you the programming steps, I messed mine up too as I had it on double knock

PM me with keypad type (LED/LCD) and what zones you want and if u want fire zones etc...

  • ***You dont use "test outputs"**** !!!! That is for autodialler teting!!! you have to use engineer walk test and trigger devices on the "normal" screen

  • hey ravi, how did u wire your PIR up, cuz iv just got an Accenta G3 Intruder/Fire Alarm System, and i cant get my pir to work, ive tryed two differant pirs but neither of them work, any sugestions?

  • omg the g3's are shit!! the PCB I can guarantee will need replacing if you keep powering it up and down. There should be aux power and the switching circuit. Dont bother with tampers. The zone is thr switching and you wire all of the powered detectors to the auxiliary.

  • iv done all that but it still dosnt work, could you show the inside of your panel and your PIR so i can see how its all wired up, and the G3's are litraly the same as the Gen 4 but an older model

  • have you checked all of your fuses?? Does the PIR actually work? what happens when you power the system up thru mains. what type of keypad do you have? the LED one I presume...

  • cheeres 4 remindin me m8, i just double checked ma fuses and 1 is bown, also what do the colour bands look like n a fire alarm EOL resistor, cuz iv just got a gutted fire alarm panel

  • it depends what panel it is. It can use capacitors or 470ohm resistors.

  • dont matter, i found some in the case, iv found a fuse for ma G3 so ill try t now

  • Yeah its a special detector head. Basically the zone temrinals dont supply power to the detectors unlike fire panels so you need to use a 12v power. A normal fire sensor uses 2 wires to supply power and alarm but the intruder type fire detectors use 2 terminals for 12v-0v and 2 for alarm contacts. It sounds complicated but its not that hard really. Im gna buy a scantronic 9448+ system next

  • It is in some ways, my house alarm is over 15 years old. The display on the house system is like a digital alarm clock display (the LED red lines) and the newer systems coming out now are a lot lot better!

  • Nah all you get with the control panel is the remote keypad and the main controller unit.

  • I will have to look into what type of callpoint you can ue because it has to be a special model. The detector has to be an intruder type smoke/heat detector NOT the fire type as they work differently. Pm me and il give u the website

  • It just a standard speaker. The panel drives the electronically generated sounds and the speaker just plays it.

  • bud what model no is that elemdene speaker

  • Its actually made by a company called "security warehouse . co . uk" I'l PM you the link for it. Its £2.64!

  • you have got alot of stuff its very loud how loud does your fie alarm get ryan eclire123455

  • I know, but I utilise most of my equipment. The loudest sounder on my system is in the garage and its the rafiki hi-point. My gent sounders can get extremely loud on 103db and that is very very very loud. I find setting them to 45db is too loud for my house so imagine what 103 is like!!

  • can u set the tamper off on it

  • im sure i did the keypad tamper didnt I? and have u got your gent sounders other tones on youtube?

  • no u were gunna do the tamper but u did the kepads panic button insted, im having trubble uploading the video cuz my laptops being an arse, but it'll be on soon

  • where can i get a fire alarm system with a system panel and callpoints with alarms?

  • well u cant realy get system with all the devices most of the time, but eBay has systems like that

  • Here's a tip: try throwing a bunch of keys at your break glass detector to test it instead of pressing the test button ;-)

  • lol! eventhough its plastic it takes a lot of effort to press it because there is two wood screws in the callpoint holes and that holding the element up! I just use the test key now!

  • Great demonstration! You'll have to keep them coming mate!

  • can US fire alarm work with panels and call point made in the UK?

  • I dont think they can... I know that if you use a setting in which you touch two wires together the alarm sounds they would work. If you go onto ebay there are loads on the UK website. Any smartsync devices or specialist notification devices will not work but the ones that you apply power to and they sound will work

  • Is the Gent Fire Alarm available in the United States?

  • no it is UK standards only. It would not comply in america

  • I Love This Video!

I Hhope Tthe Gent Fire Alarms Get Better ;)

  • LOL Thanks for watching!! I hope it gets fixed I have over £900's worth of loop devices!!!
