Ummm, they were very commerical.  Cover of Dexi'd cum on eileens face!! Bands like Fishbone paved the way for this bullshit ska, and the go unappreciated.

It's not just as simple as being an amazing band and then money rains from the sky. Bands like Save Ferris, Concrete Blonde and many others have something better than a contract...they have a career and they can play as long as they like plus they don't have to share the money. Making an honest living playing music is a gift and not many of us get to do it. Money can break bands up pretty quick...give a band a million dollars and they'll turn into crazy people...i've seen it happen.

From the outside looking in, some bands becoming successful while other bands don't seems like a crime but believe me, there is always a reason. A record company is a bank..period. They loan money to projects they believe will make them their money back...10 fold, 100 fold at least. Record companies are also like trying to hand feed a scared deer in the middle of the woods...one false move and they take their money and run from you as fast as they can...bands make a lot of false moves.

Save Ferris is wonderful. The only reason Save Ferris wasn't mainstream like No Doubt is b/c No Doubt was more marketable. Which sucks b/c Monique is a great fuckin singer and they are equally, if not more impressive musically than No Doubt. But I love them both, so fuck it

All I can say is this is PERFECT! I love this song, Monique looks great, and I love the fact how she plays with the crowd with the ball, and not get ticked off when it comes to her - she throws it right back into the crowd - i'm sure other performers may get ticked off and keep it - not her!

and you cant compare save ferris with no doubt, they are different bands that went different routes. no doubt hasnt been ska since their FIRST album when they had horns.. i liked tragic kingdom but it was a listener friendly mainstream aimed album.
