This looks like an excellent lock and I'm going to buy one next payday. BUT, people, REMEMBER...the weakest parts of the door structure are ALSO the tiny screws on the door hinges. It's fairly easy for even a moderately-determined burglar with a crowbar to force entry from the hinge side. Drive LONG SCREWS (at least 2 1/2") into the strikeplates AND hinges to penetrate the door studs and secure the door. AND (for NY, Compton and East L.A.) , get a big-ass Rottweiler! ;) hee hee

Yes, mannyvelo, the Ultimate Lock will strengthen the resistance of your double doors. However, the Ultimate Lock will be installed vertically, at the top of the door in order for it to bind the door jamb with the door frame.

I have a double door which often sees the center piece between the two doors fail when kicked in. Will this work for a double door?

The Ultimate Lock is designed to strengthen your door frame. For a double door you might want to consider installing a second lock on the stationary door (in a vertical position at the top). We would advise that you have a certified professional locksmith/door installer examine your door frame structure to see if this is necessary.
