  • okay, am I crazy to favorite & share this video because I love the fact that these bugs are grooving to the music? :D lol

  • they are kind of cute..especially since they look like they are dancing along with the music. :D lol

  • in my home town in northern canada we get massive water beetles like this. in the spring they come out of the swamps and into water tanks or pools that are out side. then they begin to lay eggs :D at one time we had around 4 3 and a half inch water bugs in the same water tank !! another time a friend and i were near the local swamp and found several large green water bugs eating tad poles. man i love these guys :D

  • LOL it farted at 0:43

  • Song?

  • aaww look at its eyes at 0:14

  • I used to catch these as a wee boy out my back garden in the pond. Good times.

  • lol it breaths with its butt. I think I caught one but smaller in camp like 6 years ago.

  • This little guy is cute! I laughed like crazy when it started swimming right when the music picked up!

  • Location

  • Look like Cybister Japonicus :)

  • That's a good guess but what makes you think it's not Dytiscus?

  • look at 0:45 it FARTS! lmfao

  • I'm not kidding! Dead, alive, inbetween ( hehe...) Big bugs, small bugs, fat bugs, tall bugs....and I just rhymed.....

  • I know what you mean. I go inside when it's raining, come out the next day and it's like the after affects of Starship Troopers on my porch!

  • what's the title of this song?

  • You can use dechlorinator. Check with Hatari Invertebrates for rearing tips. You can find these beetles in small ponds. Learn to recognize the larvae because that's what you'll probably find this time of year. A light should be fine. Try to mimic the environment you find them in.

  • Umm well my spring break will be in two weeks. i think or one. I dont know. itll be a bit warmer by then. Can you send me some larva species of the new jersey diving beetles and info? like private message me it.

  • what other plants can I use? And what can I do so I dont have to clean the tank often? any ideas? Can I use this dechlorinator that has "aloe vera"? its this thing that fixes lost scales and heals them and makes the animals calm. I dont want it to die on me. So i want specific care.

  • There are a lot of papers available but you may need to do some library work. Go to Google Scholar and put in "rearing dytiscids."

  • I did and its soo confusing. It doesnt give me straight out information. And as for libraries. Our libraries suck ass. They dont give me not much information. Id like to know the lifespan of the beetle in this video. And id also want to know the Common name of it and Scientific name.

  • I want it to be next to my bed. Is it possible to make it so I can use the lightat night? and what else can they live with? whats the longest living of all diving beetles in usa? Could I buy them? How can you sex them? How can you make sure that theyre young? exactly when can I get them? can I get a pair and put it in a 5 gallon? What is the best set up? what kind of filtration do you recommend? I am going to put a lid on the tank like I dont know. But I want something so it doesnt get harmed.

  • What kind of species of diving beetle is that? O: can it go in a 5 gallon? Or would it do better in a ten? And do i need filtration system? like can i use it. I live in New jersey, america can you find these in america?

  • I don't know the species but the genus is Dytiscus, common across the world. You can definitely find them in New Jersey. No need for a filtration system as they are air breathers. 5 gallons is plenty.

  • Well I want to get the most active of diving beetles that doesnt stay small. I like larger ones. The ones that dont hide. O: and like where would I find them? ponds? streams? rivers? do you know a specific place in new jersey where they wll be found? should I use gravel? or sand? O: can I put a driftwood log? and make it like the natural habibtat I would get it from? Can I use wild plants? Duck weeds?

  • best video ever

  • when i was little i neamed theese the farter water bugs :D

  • those beetles eats young pikes but when the pikes turn older it turns the opposite I don't wannabe smart i just want to share knwoledge cause i really love those beetles \(/\o/\)/

  • it looks like a green june bug...

  • They're lovely to see swimming in a group. They look like swimming gems. I had a bit of trouble fishing on out of my niece's little swimming pull. they bite hard. Didn't break the skin though.

  • I've seen a few of your videos, and I have to say they are quite interesting. I've seen a couple of these beetles swimming around in our pool and they have a nasty bite, but not as bad as they are in their Larva form. Nasty buggers! By the way, great background song, it sounds familiar but I can't place the name; do you remember the name of the song? (if it has one.) Keep up the great work!

  • This music is seriously awesome and ive seen this beetle before :P it was in the lake by my house lol

  • What is the name of the song? :D

  • lol thats sick, are all these insects your or are they wild?
