Obama care will cause employers to stop offering Insurance to their employees figuring we can all just go get it through the "Awesome Public Option." They can trough me in jail...I will NEVER accept Obama care. There are better options than being at the mercy of the government.
Once the gov has their hand in your health care, they decide whether or not to treat you. AND the wealthy always get treated by the BEST NHS doctors. Why? Because that's where most money from the system ends up. Don't kid yourself into thinking you'll get premium health care under the gov plan.
Republican and other outspoken opponents of medical reform want to wipe out Medicare, Medicaid and even increase what people pay for limited medical insurance.
They want to destroy any reasonable form of affordable medical insurance and provide even greater long-term profits for insurance companies.
Theyre not worried about end-of-life care; theyre worried about profits.
Expanding Medicare for all is the best solution and simplest argument. People are familiar and generally happy with Medicare. Individuals can choose to stay with private Insurance, or be allowed to buy into Medicare. You have to dumb this argument down for the majority of Americans. The complexity of public options, healthcare exchanges, etc just creates anxiety and confusion. Pay attention to Anthony Weiner, rep from New york who makes the best points I've heard in this national debate.
Postal workers are government workers and they DO NOT get their pay from tax dollars. The exchange is nearly the same thing that congress has now. Congress has an employer provided plan with choices of insurers, both non profit and for profit. For profits have been competing successfully against the not for profits.
This is a great video. So many people are too afraid of health care reform and for what? Because Glenn Beck spreads vicious lies. The cost of health care is damaging to our economy. This plan will not bring us prosperity in the short term but in the long term, which will save our children from giving their pay checks straight to the government, it will relieve us from the tsunami of money that is going to hit us if we don not pass this bill. Great video!
Assuming that his facts are correct and we only have an additional 17 million subsidized health plan members, that means that those individuals who work for a private company will pick up their tab. It's important to remember that gov workers, gov contracts and military are taxed but their income is already tax money. How is that going to benefit those private company workers in any way?
He left off the only reason I would like to hear, which is what are these methods to reduce the cost?
What he left out is that it the public option will fail. By appeasing the insurance companies and letting them stay in business, instead of changing to a single-payer system, we forego $400 billion a year in savings in adminitrative costs alone. When he talks about "structural changes that will bring down the cost of health care," that means MORE restrictions on health care for the sick. And instead of saving $400B, it costs us at least $100B a year, with at least a quarter added to the deficit.

676's single payer is legit
3200's 'public option' is not
The Nation's William Greider has a new article- "Squandered Opportunity"

SINGLE-PAYER or PUBLIC OPTION covering the AMERICAN PEOPLE is not a GOVERNMENT TAKE-OVER.
It is an AMERICAN PEOPLE TAKE-OVER of their Health Care.
PAID FOR BY: We the AMERICAN PEOPLE
TO SERVICE: We the AMERICAN PEOPLE
Congress needs to remove the (65) AGE-RESTRICTION for Medicare.

The Health Plan that President Obama & the Democratic Congress is offering ... mirrors ... what All Senators & Federal Employess have for themselves:
Access to various PRIVATE PLANS through several Insurance Companies AND a Government-run PUBLIC OPTION.
If it's great for Senators that WE ELECTED ... it will be great also for the American People.
Not a single Senator would ever consider dropping their PUBLIC OPTION ... but SOME don't want us to have it
IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE REALLY

All Insurance CEOs HAVE EXCELLENT HEALTH COVERAGE & can afford it. AGREED?
All Senators HAVE EXCELLENT HEALTH COVERAGE & can afford it. AGREED?
All Senators are covered by a PUBLIC OPTION PLAN but THEY dont want YOU to have a PUBLIC OPTION PLAN !!
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE ??
Only in the USA would an ignorant consumer protest against REFORM & PUBLIC OPTION and in doing so PROTEST AGAINST HIS OWN BEST INTEREST!!
WHO BENEFIT ? NOT YOU
WHO BENEFIT ? INSURANCE CORP !!
