This is the best f'in movie I've seen in a really long time. IT HAS EVERYTHING. I watched it twice in a row. Great locations. Great script. Great acting. Suspenseful and intelligent. Keeps you on the edge of your seat and makes you think long after it's done. The style of the movie is so freakin' cool. I have no idea why it got lukewarm reviews. This movie should've made bank at the box office.

yeah, i bought it at blockbuster from a 4 for $20 deal. I found it really good even though it wasn't a all out shoot em up. There is a big story involved with this and you need to pay attention. thats all i need to say. But i say rent it first before buying. Good Luck

I dont mean 'emotion' - that is usually dull in large quantities,anyway, but about real people managing to live in peace with each other somehow no matter what, inspîte of all their own failings, and facing true to life difficulties bravely . I think movies of the 50s and 40s were more about those things, perhaps.
1.- a marksman NEVER EVER takes the rifle barrel out of the window. they take the shot way behind it. otherwise, they might be spotted.
2.- in the museum, the guy with the gun fires at least 18 times, without reloading. he uses a glock with a 14 round mag. capacity plus the shot in the chamber. on the other hand, clive owen fires a submachinegun (I presume, it's a Brügger Thommet mp9) in auto mode, without running outta ammo.
I wish that the ending had been a little different. Spoilers...
He finally went after the bank in 3 ways/strategies
1) He told the italians.
2) He tried to get them on tape.
3) He thought about killing a banker.
In that order. But then (1) comes back as the finale.
I think that it would have been a lot more satisfying as a film if, instead of 1a>2>3>1b, it had been 2>3>1a&1b with Mr White getting it, cut into the roof top chase.
As it stands it was like durr, sure, we know that.

i thought this was a boring film...they strung out the points and made them to vague...and why was naomi watts in the film? It's not bad. There are SOME slow moments, and it's not really character-oriented, and to be honest, I didn't feel the ending did justice to the rest of the movie, but that was just because the movie was so fast-paced and then it was like, "OVER."
All in all, it's like most movies, it has its not-so-great parts, and then it has the parts the make you want to stand up and cheer.

oh my god, i saw this movie just last sunday and it rocked. it had action, and a hell of it at that, a bit of comedy, and romance. In this movie Clive Owen was freakin amazing i wish i could once meet him. also that shooting scene was much more than you think it was. it was so cool, also if you wanted to know clive killed that dude at the end and by doing that, he brought down the IBBC.

I agree with you. Just because they make a fictional movie exposing some of the stuff that is really going on doesnt mean that people are gonna be woken up by it. If anything people will think that its just a fictional movie that stuff like this doesnt happen in the real world.

It depends. There will be people who won't look past such scenarios as movie fiction. Not to mention those who won't connect the dots to what is happening in the real world with banks and other business/financial powers.
Then you have smarter people who will see this movie and connect the dots and then works on research to see if there's any validity to the scenario presented in the movie.
I finally saw this movie and the end conclusion that the movie seemed to portray at least to me was that the corruption is of such magnitude that is impossible to do something about it. Clive Owen's character seems to just accept the fact in the end that one person cant make a difference.
True, it does give the viewer that feeling. It makes your wonder if that is how they want you to feel, so you can give up about taking action.
But there are individuals who will realize that they CAN do something and futher realize that there are hundreds of millions of people out there who are also coming to the realization that they can also do something about such a problem.

All in all, it's like most movies, it has its not-so-great parts, and then it has the parts the make you want to stand up and cheer.
Anyway, that's my opinion. :)

*sigh* I'm well aware of that. the point that I was trying to convey, which I thought was quite clear, was that the plot of the MOVIE was kind of slow up until the last half hour or so, and that the script didn't really focus on the characters.
I said absolutely nothing about how it related to real life, or the economy, or how we're all in debt.
And in fact, I have looked it up.

I may be mistaken (unlikely), but this film could be about Westpac.
Why? Well, 1. They embezzled tax in New Zealand to the tune of $657 Million, and 2. They knowingly and purposely aided and abetted Saddam Hussein in laundering billions of US dollars in the Food for Oil scam in the 90's.
Do you wonder why their share price is still high, even though all other banks and financial companies are lower? Their staff are untrained and useless, AND they get rid of all good staff.

oh my god, i saw this movie just last sunday and it rocked. it had action, and a hell of it at that, a bit of comedy, and romance. In this movie Clive Owen was freakin amazing i wish i could once meet him. also that shooting scene was much more than you think it was. it was so cool, also if you wanted to know clive killed that dude at the end and by doing that, he brought down the IBBC.

It depends. There will be people who won't look past such scenarios as movie fiction. Not to mention those who won't connect the dots to what is happening in the real world with banks and other business/financial powers.
Then you have smarter people who will see this movie and connect the dots and then works on research to see if there's any validity to the scenario presented in the movie.

I finally saw this movie and the end conclusion that the movie seemed to portray at least to me was that the corruption is of such magnitude that is impossible to do something about it. Clive Owen's character seems to just accept the fact in the end that one person cant make a difference.

True, it does give the viewer that feeling. It makes your wonder if that is how they want you to feel, so you can give up about taking action.
But there are individuals who will realize that they CAN do something and futher realize that there are hundreds of millions of people out there who are also coming to the realization that they can also do something about such a problem.
