If you can't imagine this happening in the US think again, it almost did. A fatal explosion occurred on Aug. 28, 2008 in Institute, WV. at the Bayer CropScience Chemical plant. This deadly explosion could have easily eclipsed Bhopal India. Bayer CropScience is the only chemical plant in the World that makes and stores enough MIC daily that can cause this kind of mass holocaust.

Indians are responsible for their own people getting treated like this. If Indians had any national spirit, they whould have stopped buying all Union Carbide products. That would have taught the multinational companies a lesson. Indians are not capable of any such united action.

it wasnt shoddy work practices, it was cost cutting, lack of regulatory infrastructure and maintanence that caused that disaster. It is clearly high level management that is at fault here.

Thanks SO much for posting this! This is a story that needs to be told. I, to this day, am STILL furious over the evil and horrible actions and inactions taking by Union Carbide/Dow.
