when i did this to my dogi sliped and did a giant line right throuh the top Knot it looked awfull so i cut it all of he looks evan weirder now it wont grow back right oops
Ok I need help. I'm looking into getting a black standard. I have some grooming experiance, so I will be doing most of the work myself, after an initial professional grooming. First I HATE that ear look, its boxy and to me ruins the entire flowing look, what can I do to make them, settle in better? Same with the tail. Also I like the wide legged look (like a show cocker) How can I make sure I get them all symmetrical? Any other tips I'd be happy to listen!!

There is no doubt that this gentleman GOT this top knot perfect the best ive ever seen from all the grooming demonstrations the BEST, thank you for sharing x
@aeiou99999 My beautiful standard poodle would run straight to the nearest mud hole
after an expensive grooming. He knew he looked too cute either way. You have to keep poodles groomed - if you don't, they will eventually become so matted and that is painful for them, plus their hair just keeps on growing forever. Not to worry!!
I like standards although miniatures are my favorite. I've yet to see a Standard with enough chin to suit my taste. But this dark blue dog is attractive, for sure.
I wonder - was this dog's ears wrapped just for hair cutting purposes or do his owners keep them wrapped all the time?
I have finally learned why my poodles heads look like they have been smashed into a wall. I was taught the same as you, in combing it all forward and then scissoring. Not a very nice look. I'm going to start doing it the way you have shown. Thanks so much.
the dogs coat is so thick and lush

Does this dog get to run in the woods, play in the mud, swim in the lake? I do worry...
