  • Thanks so much for the idea! i just bought to rolls for my laptop. It black gloss every were so I'm doing this to the entire laptop :)

  • I just did this myself on my Dell Studio XPS 16 and the results are pretty good. I recommend covering each section (palm rest and lid) entirely first and then using a razor blade to carefully cut out the touchpad and logo. Also, the curvature of the lid is a pain in the butt but just fold the decal where it sticks out into a "Y" where the edge of the lid turns. Don't make any cuts and press it down until you get the Y then you will see what I mean. Then just cut off the excess.

  • I have the same laptop, could you tell me where you get the manual to do that, please?

  • @j0k3r7790 There's no manual dude. You have to figure it out

  • How did you apply it to the top lid? The corners are curved so you would need to make some special cuts in order for it to contour to that right??

  • Thank you this is much better than my idea of going to the craft store and buying fake leather and using glue to stick it on. I'll be doing this instead :)

I still don't understand how the keyboard gets those ugly finger smears. Also, do you know any remedy for getting the particles that end up in the speaker grills?

  • I put four wheels and a aerodam on mine and 24 inch wheels on it and tint the screen and also added some JBL speakers shit I pimped my laptop motherf**cker

  • mine is white on the back i wonder how white vinyl sheets would look on the palmrest

  • its not that bad quit being a total lame... its not like its food or something its going to happen at least its not a colored studio like my wifes that the paint is chipping away

  • you should make them and sell them on ebay

  • Simply genius thanks for sharing

  • ill be doing this

  • If it was done really well it might be ok... but the material dell chose for the plastic parts is dam awful, i mean seriously, im a professional computer designer and i choose a material like that for a palm rest & the back cover? The 2 parts that get the most handling? Stupidity.

Personally I think the xps m1530 was a nicer machine... although i do like the metal construction of the studio xps 16... and it feels more durable.

  • You should start a pimp my laptop show!!!

And all you negative f*cks can go f*ck yourself. If you don't anything good to say, shut the f*ck up

  • i reckon it looks pretty good =)

    thx for the video

  • aww shit bru,, u have terrible terrible taste

  • That shit looks horrible

  • Shit I love my Fingerprints more than this

  • oh shit .. this is really ugly man !!

  • i definitely prefer fingerprints.

    good try

  • sweet

  • that looks awesome

  • cost of the foil ???

  • go to ebay, search for this. "

CARBON FIBER 3 III Vinyl Roll Adhesive"

    24" x 12" is $5.99 with free shipping.

I ordered 24" x 36" for $13.99 to have some extra for my friends or if you make a mistake, you got extra to cover you. :)

  • is it real carbon fiber or just a replica

  • The carbon fiber backing is adhesive foil. Not the regular adhesive. When you take off the foil (carbon fiber sheet), it won't leave anything, no smearing, etc.

  • yea would it ruin the laptop also what did you do to apply it do you think you could make a vid showing how u did this pictures dont really do it at all ur jus basicaly showin results not much else or explain how u did it

  • doesn't this kind of ruin the laptop?? I think Id rather just clean it....lol
