Very original....even compared with modern stuff. To just label her and the Band as Punk is to limit them. She loves to perform. Punk was/is about freedom to do what u want; express yourself and f##k what others think about it. People still want to see her.
What's wrong with these old CYNICS? Afraid of your past cos it reminds you of how skinny you were, how much you cared??? Look at you now you fat hypocritical fuckers...
Heh, looks like I got 4 thumbs up for my comment, so I'm not the only one that feels so inclined to *ahem* enjoy themselves while looking at her! I think she would be flattered! ^^\( ^ _ ^ )/^^
nightshift..that song used to scare the hell out of me. She still however makes it pay here in her performance. The guitarist over flanges Sir John's great guitar however. I must say I hear The Door's "The End" in this one..they always being an influence on the Banshees.
You are right about the Door's influence. Many of those punk and post-punk bands of the late 70s and 80s were influenced by either Jim Morrison or David Bowie as far as vocal delivery was concerned.
Well Jim yes I agree (as in Nietsche/ the Oedipeus like "the End") )but Bowie and the Spider from Mars?? Hmmmm...I think that perhaps you mean Roxy Music/Ferry had some effect on a lot of the post-punk as you say- not ness. the Banshees per se. S+B probably take some influence from German expressionisim, films of the Bauhaus and possibly other art groups of the early last century- Dada/anti-fascist in scope etc.
seen her live in dublin a few months back ,it was de biz, she still has it big time and looks great, her album mantaray, rocks check it out , shes still the best,
i know what you mean, but i don't think she has no voice left, i think that with age she's lost the ability to hit so many high notes and shriek as much as she used to; she still sounds great in my opinion, it's just a different great from way back in the 80s
she is one of the reals queen of "POP".

You should try locking them if they can't be closed properly... At least you're not hearing Windows, though...

See Nina Hagen's version of Bowie's 'Ziggy Stardust' or Bauhaus' version.
