there are reasons why the cop didn't give him a ticket and the main one is that tourists have no time to go to court as you can always appear in front of a judge as in the Bay Area, especially the courts in Oakland are packed with people wanting to appear in front of a judge to fight a traffic ticket. So the German would not show up in the first place, secondly the ticket won't follow him to Germany and EVEN if it did he just wouldn't pay since I know many foreigners never paid

If the POLIZEI thinks you are drunk they ask you to do a random breath testing. If you refuse to do this, they take you to a doctor who takes your blood. But a german police officer would never talk in that primitive way to anybody, because we germans are polite and well-educated...

cop acts borderline-racist and like an asshole, but doesn't give them a ticket for driving WAY too fast? in germany, police would act all friendly but you would walk home with your license gone for a month and a 280€ ticket in your hand.
i'm sure the intimidation of the cop probably works better than a smiling 280€ ticket when it comes to preventing people from driving too fast.

@staxstix the cop was supposed to do his job which he didnt , just barked and left ,in germany accidents rates are much lower than say usa because the germans are expected to drive properly and they are fined and thier licence taken WHICH IMO IS A GOOD THING ,as people are more careful next time.but still USA cops are better than say Pakistani(my country) cops cuz pakistani cops are corrupted lazy b******s who dont do a thing , just sit in their car and do nothing or at most yell at you lol

@marcuspolo101 accident rates in germany are lower because people are actually able to drive properly, which is not the case in the usa. no proper training, automatic cars only, simple straightforward large roads and parking lots. if you put americans on german streets, they would probably kill eachother. or improve their skills.

Hes right, we can drive fast here in Germany, plus the police is a bit too nice to us, but that doesn't mean u can behave like a dick in other countries. @germanshepherd13 Your math is a little off. 98 in a 70 is 28 MPH over the speed limit. If that was me I would have been screwed over with reckless driving, a fat ticket, and my insurance rates would have went through the roof. I would have also had to wait 20 minutes for the guy to write the ticket. He didn't even run the guy to see if he had warrants. Heck, i might even have gone to jail for it. This guy got a big ass break.

there are reasons why the cop didn't give him a ticket and the main one is that tourists have no time to go to court as you can always appear in front of a judge as in the Bay Area, especially the courts in Oakland are packed with people wanting to appear in front of a judge to fight a traffic ticket. So the German would not show up in the first place, secondly the ticket won't follow him to Germany and EVEN if it did he just wouldn't pay since I know many foreigners never paid

I am with the US army and am stationed here in Germany. The Polizei are able to do anything they want. They would def not lose their job over it!!
Just as an example: If you are pulled over, and the polizei thinks you're drinking and driving. He asks for a blood sample. If you refuse, he legally has the right to take your blood forcefully. So he is legally allowed to beat the shit out of you, until he gets enough blood for his test.

If the POLIZEI thinks you are drunk they ask you to do a random breath testing. If you refuse to do this, they take you to a doctor who takes your blood. But a german police officer would never talk in that primitive way to anybody, because we germans are polite and well-educated...

@11xForces if you think Germany is a shithole you might want to think about where we are living. In many areas Germany is much better off (and at the moment probably most areas). BTW I am in the Navy so don't attack me for being anti-American. Why can Germany have lower death rates and no speed limits on some of the autobahn? Because they drive properly inspected cars, have legitimate driver training, and a different driving culture among the citizens. Love the USA but speaking the truth.
