Yes, James Moody was a true giant. Stood shoulder to shoulder with the greats. I had the rare opportunity to catch him with Dizzy @ the Village Gate back in '66 when I was in the Navy Sch. of Music down in Virginia. I played clarinet & sax. Anyway, was a draw dropping 3 shows. My buddy, Danny Somoza, a gifted guitarist in his own right, got us backstage & I got to shake hands with the whole group. What a moment for me. Never forget it... George B

He lived to a ripe old age of 85, and left us today. What a classy song, captures the very heart of what jazz is and what it captures.
