  • are the clothes part of the mesh? or are they just parented to the armature? im working on a basic 3rd person game and id like to know the best way to add clothing to my character. someone please respond!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh man, ive always wanted to do this but its soooo hard! you are truly talented

  • Sintel = The best blender user

  • Very awesome reel. Inspiring too, which is weird seeing as I am an animator, and never touch modelling or textuing. I guess its the feeling "awe" that this reel gave me, its the kind of feeling I want my work to give people one day. Anyway, awesome work :)

  • Wow this is beautiful!!!! You just inspired me to work harder :) Keep it up!!

  • Excellent work. Congratulations. You did a great job!!

  • This is awsome!

  • Angela, how long have you been studying as a 3D artist to get so amazingly good? You are quite an inspiration to a newbie like myself.

  • very nice, i thought the 1st model had great personality =) it is good enuf to be to be used in a bona fide animated movie

  • how do you texture your characters?

  • Really really really amazing. I need to do something like that for my studies project. Only T pose. I love to do it. Could do it all the time but unfortunately i got other things to do too.

  • i wish i could learn how to model... then i could make some of the characters i wanna see in an jrpg game i wanna make

  • @ScrewFearMe then do it then Learn to modelASAP

    start with blender cookie

  • i wish i can make 3d animation like you

  • this would make epic movie :O

  • i dont know anything about 3d modeling, but just out of curiousity: what programs do u use to make a 3d model and animation and how long on average does one model take? and can you teach urself how to do this or do u need to study 3d modeling to be able to get the hand of this?

  • I used Autodesk 3ds Max 2012 for 6 years for modeling and animating, after you showed me this real *sigh* time to learn through another software.

  • dislike..... 0 WOW ... 600 likes

  • I'm speechless... this is amazing.

  • You sir are what inspired me to want to be a 3D artist when I'm older. My teacher showed us Sintel, before it started I was like: meh its probably not that good, after: O_O

  • You know something is wrong, when you fall in love with a fictional character...

  • Breathtaking, no less.

  • How inspiring is this... just, amazing, really nice work.

I've started to use Blender, but now I'm waiting until the summer to start to practice really hard...

    Thanks for this amazing video.

  • @leandrocasas90 Taking a few 3D courses could be beneficial, if you find a course that teaches with Blender. Sadly, the documentation for 2.5 and above isn't quite finished yet, so there are some things you can't look up as easily.

Of course, you could always support Blender by buying some of their learning DVDs and use that to get the handle of how the application works. It's hard to learn Blender without also knowing about a few 3D concepts. It's easier to learn if you're already into 3D.

  • How many shape keys did you use on her face? That part goes by so fast I can't really count.

  • OMG Your are an inspiration. I am so touched by your talents with the Polygon to living creations through our imaginations. I to have your DVD and I am so blown away.

You to me are a "Muse" to the art world. will there be a part two to the "Sintel"

  • Hmm.. Impressive considering you used blender.

  • I started learning Blender after following your work on Sintel. I'm trying to get good enough so I will be able to follow your Blenderella DVD that I already bought. I just had a quick question, did you use SSS on the Isabella model?

  • @rudigerthethird Yes, I used SSS on Isabella's skin and eyes.

  • Mad skillz.

  • wow! your realy good! i watched sintel, it was so good! you did a good job on the characters! you used blender right?

  • Hello, Im a fan of your work:) can i ask what time of method did you use to make the hair in Sintel? and eye brows?

  • @xeonprofessional Thanks for your comment :) We used particles for hair in the film. More info at:

    wiki.blender.org/index.php/Org:Institute/Open_projects/Durian/HairNotes

  • Great work. Are the mouth shapes blends or have you used a bone setup for the face?

  • @EMJAYFAB : Facial expressions are blendshapes based, with the exception of rigged eyelids, eyeball direction, tongue, jaw open.

  • Your work is absolutely beautiful. You are my new inspiration - thank you for sharing your incredible reel.

I loved Sintel, btw. :) Great work!
