The gun turnover SHOULD be high fiving and handing over your gunbelt (so I won't have to wake up to do turnovers), but God knows we have plenty of dumbasses that will fuck up anything so we still do it at the armory. I usually stand duty Gunners Mate so I know plently of people that I still have to baby sit every six days...you think they would understand the diffrence from a bolt release button and a magazine release button by now, but then again these people got like mid 30's on their ASVAB.

Man, the first thing I thought of when I saw "Hylton" was one staff member at NNPTC. BM1 Hylton was the first LT on the Power School side. Pretty cool guy. Made T-track not so bad when I had got assigned to stay in the freakin' Rickover building and clean.

The gun turnover thing may change soon. My boat is part of a trial program where they basically high-five it and hand the gun over. They actually do an armed watch turnover after duty section turnover each day.
