From what i don't know but its a possibility o.o I mean that theory does slightly make since but i don't see the connection between a satellite and the monster. the monster wasn't sleeping for thousands of years if you look at the dates on the tape you'll see how long it was sleep to the day it came out and started killing everyone I believe the parasites were living inside the aliens

I don't think it's that far-fetched; if you've watched the movie you've seen the little things flake off of it - I think that's how it reproduces itself. The camera is pointed out the window at a section of beach and ocean as a distant object can be seen coming in from the upper right of the picture. Very small, it splashes into the water just to the left of the yacht in that scene.
The Japanese oil company TAGRUATO's satellite (Chimpanz III) crushes into the ocean (shown at the end of the movie when Rob and Beth were on the Ferris wheel). TAGRUATO works with SLUSHO (a slush company), as the main ingredient for SLUSHO is found in the deep ocean. It awakened Cloverfield (the monster) from an underwater trench.

I just want to clear up that when someone said that some fisherman discovered an "ancient creature," he was referring to the coelacanth, a fish that was presumed to have gone extinct 3 million years ago. absolutely nothing to do with the movie's plot or the monster's origin.
there are a few explainations. In 1 part of the movieHud was saying it could have been some kind of alien. So the object could have been the monster itself falling from space. some of you might say- thats to small to be the monster, or, how the hell did no1 on colony island (or wotever u call it) see the monster? Well it was probibly a long way from where the scene was. The other explaination was that it was a piece of debris from the monsters first attack on somthing on the sea

Of course that Satellite could ahve been knocked down by the monster and it lived and grew underwater for some time before attacking the city...I mean that could explain how it got there right?
1. That was the monster but was only a baby, a month later it grew and attacked the city looking for its mother and because it was scared.
2. it was a satilelite from a company that makes slushies (yes slushies) and it awakened the monster that was dormant for a few thousand years and it awakens to this strange new world and is scared and starts to go on a rampage.
an add-on to the satelite story was that billions of years ago there was two organisms a passive one and aggressive one. the passaive one was frozen and later discovered and used as an ingrediant in slushies. while the aggressive one evolved to what is seen on screen. but this is just what i hear i dont now if any of this is true...we need a sequal to clear all this up!
i heard similar stuff. its kind of like a mixture of both. it was a baby, and this compnay that has two branches, one making slushies and the other mining for oil, one of the oil companies satelite fell from the sky and woke it up
jj abrhams confirmed that the "monster " that fell out of the sky was not the monster. it was a satelite and when it hit the bottom of the ocean it awakened the baby monster that has been sleeping peacfully for a few thousand years. all of this is confirmed and official so everyone stop believing that it is the monster

i thought thesatellite woke the monster.. well ive read it from someone's blog.. really havent seen the movie, is this movie great? some says it sucks because the camera wont stay still.. so im having second thoughts of watching this,. =(

The date, April 27, 6:17 p.m., is prior to the monster's attack on the city. As part of the viral marketing campaign, it is explained that the splash is made by a satellite crashing into the ocean. The satellite was owned by the Tagruato corporation, which has been harvesting one of the ingredients of its patented "Slusho!" beverage from the ocean floor, which possibly drew the attention of the creature. Goddard pointed out the lack of explanation in the film of the creature's origin was deliberate. Despite this in the final moments of the film, after the explosion and just before the credits, the characters Beth and Rob are talking while on an amusement ride. The camera is pointed out the window at a section of beach and ocean as a distant object can be seen coming in from the upper right of the picture. Very small, it splashes into the water just to the left of the yacht in that scene.

The Japanese oil company TAGRUATO's satellite (Chimpanz III) crushes into the ocean (shown at the end of the movie when Rob and Beth were on the Ferris wheel). TAGRUATO works with SLUSHO (a slush company), as the main ingredient for SLUSHO is found in the deep ocean. It awakened Cloverfield (the monster) from an underwater trench.

I just want to clear up that when someone said that some fisherman discovered an "ancient creature," he was referring to the coelacanth, a fish that was presumed to have gone extinct 3 million years ago. absolutely nothing to do with the movie's plot or the monster's origin.

there are a few explainations. In 1 part of the movieHud was saying it could have been some kind of alien. So the object could have been the monster itself falling from space. some of you might say- thats to small to be the monster, or, how the hell did no1 on colony island (or wotever u call it) see the monster? Well it was probibly a long way from where the scene was. The other explaination was that it was a piece of debris from the monsters first attack on somthing on the sea

Of course that Satellite could ahve been knocked down by the monster and it lived and grew underwater for some time before attacking the city...I mean that could explain how it got there right?

well i heard two stories first one being.
1. That was the monster but was only a baby, a month later it grew and attacked the city looking for its mother and because it was scared.
2. it was a satilelite from a company that makes slushies (yes slushies) and it awakened the monster that was dormant for a few thousand years and it awakens to this strange new world and is scared and starts to go on a rampage.

an add-on to the satelite story was that billions of years ago there was two organisms a passive one and aggressive one. the passaive one was frozen and later discovered and used as an ingrediant in slushies. while the aggressive one evolved to what is seen on screen. but this is just what i hear i dont now if any of this is true...we need a sequal to clear all this up!

i heard similar stuff. its kind of like a mixture of both. it was a baby, and this compnay that has two branches, one making slushies and the other mining for oil, one of the oil companies satelite fell from the sky and woke it up

jj abrhams confirmed that the "monster " that fell out of the sky was not the monster. it was a satelite and when it hit the bottom of the ocean it awakened the baby monster that has been sleeping peacfully for a few thousand years. all of this is confirmed and official so everyone stop believing that it is the monster
