  • The flowers are also happy lol!they smile and the dogs are counting sheep before sleeping.Funny cartoon!but so tender and sweet. There was no violence and rude words back then.Just sweet things and nice children. So good!!!

  • Wow, thanks for posting! We had the vhs but can't find it now. I've never been able to find this anywhere.

  • i honestly could cry. this was my all time favorite christmas movie growing up. thank u so much for uploading!

  • I loved this cartoon. It was my favorite Christmas special. And I love that song that goes with the poem. Why Rankin Bass did their own version 6 years later is beyond me. It was one of the worst cartoons ever made. I was always disappointed when the tv guide indicated the Night Before Christmas was going to be and it turned out to be that Rankin Bass clinker. Take a look at this one then try to watch the other one. There is no comparison.

  • I had never seen this one before. I just stumbled on it by accident.

  • i was 2/wasnt this great ?.....

  • Nice Post Thank You I was One in 67... This is so moral...Lets keep that. I will teach my daughter all the great morals and family times, which alot of people seemed to forget...

  • Finding this is almost better than Christmas Day, itself! I haven't seen this since I was like 7! Thank you SO much for sharing this! Merry Christmas!

  • hey does anyone know this one movie that was called twas the night before christmas but it had a homeless child in it? i dont remember fully the movie but there was a part where some magic stuff went into a room and all the toys in it came to life and started singing? i cant find it anywhere.

  • @jigglypuff2cute it's posted on YouTube in 3 parts...look for it

  • @fscap811 no no no it was a diffrent one. i remember now at the beginning it went. twas the night b4 christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring...not even a mouse. then u hear a little voice " umm exuse me!? over here. yes, im a mouse and umm... im stirring." and you see the mouse is stirring a big pot of soup. rings a bell to anyone?

  • @jigglypuff2cute that would be Bugs Bunny's Loony Christmas... Just watched it this evening!

  • @jigglypuff2cute

I know exactly what you mean! I've been trying to find this one for ages but have had no joy... :( It's a running joke between me and a friend too so I would really love to find it!

  • December its the most beautiful month of the year!

  • OH MY FREKIN GOSH> i have been trying to figure out the name of this cartoon forever so i can find it. i just remeberd watching it as a kid and knew it had somethinbg to do with a father and sick daughter asnd a book about sant clause. thanks for puting this up. i also agree with sygo7g this is a shortned version. i remeber when the dog was folowing the rabit tracks he comes to an area where there is an un told number of tracks and gets confused. but so glad i found this.

  • Actor Olan Soule, who was the choir and play director on the black and white" Andy Griffith Show"(s), had a perfect voice for "father" characters such as this.

  • @amuslima99 Olan Soule was part of Jeck Webb's acting troupe. On Dragnet he often played a lab technician or a doctor.

  • @frankd1965 I had no idea ! He also did Batman's voice on the Saturday morning cartoon, "SuperFriends" in the '70s.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I've thought about this movie for years!!

  • I've never seen this, and I'm 35 (I grew up on most of the old classic Christmas specials). It looks really awesome so far! I love the Norman Luboff choir - I play my vinyl copies of A Very Merry Christmas volumes 4 and 5 EVERY year, and the Luboff choir are pretty much a staple on those. This just screams Christmas to me! One thing I notice, is that the animation seems almost rotoscoped (where it's animated frame by frame from live action.) This gives a warm, human feel to it. :)

  • OMG OMG! THANKS FOR POSTING!

  • Amazon has it. You have to get the "Santa and three bears" dvd - this is an extra on it.

As far as I know there is no stand alone dvd. But make sure it says in the description the bonus is there.

  • @cb82fan I mean Santa and the three bears.

  • @cb82fan Thanks -- I've been looking for this for years. It puts the RankinBass version to shame.

  • thanks for the upload. i always do a christmas in july where i watch a bunch of of christmas movie all month long.and this is just what i wanted to watch

  • As I child, I remember 1 of the things I looked forward to every Xmas, besides the presents, & decorating the tree & relatives making Xmas cookies, were those stop frame animations of Frosty the Snowman, & Rudolph the red nose reindeer, (this show) & Charlie Brown Xmas special. I vaguely remember assorted Xmas specials also (don't know how I missed the Star Wars Xmas special). Is it me or has the whole feeling Xmas (I can still say Christmas, right?) drastically changed in the last 20 years?

  • Any ideas where I can buy a copy of the for my grandkids. This is my all time favorite animated Christmas movie
