Something i like though i dont care about Boba's voice, is that scene where he tells the troopers in he cargo hold. I love the music, and how it paces twice before continuing to the theme. In the Special edition the pace is played once so that the score will transition better because the entire theme is playing. Listen to both scenes, the music plays all the way. It takes the spooky out when its all the way. Also they added music when Leia is shooting which sucks, i like it mute.
the beginning of han and leia's relationship then they have three kids Jaina, Jacen and Anakin, Anakin sacrafices himself to save his sister, who temporarily goes to the darkside then she comes back and jacen goes to the darkside and becomes darth caedus and his twin sister kills him that must be very sad for the parents
Ya know they must have known sitting there after thiswas made. Watching it. They must have known that the greatest movie had just been complete. Nothing i have seen the last 30 years has come close to this. Great movies around but this from start , to the very end is perfection.
Great upload and for those that feel the same i salute you, we was there watching this as children and this is a key memory for so many of us. MAGIC !
@pvlmichalek I think one reason is that even that special effect is used very sparringly. So, the audience was primed and waiting for thsoe combat scenes. In the prequels, Lucas used the special effects every ten seconds. Two the combat scenes dont have all this flipping around and honk cong martial arts stuff going on. Watching classic swahbuckler sword fighting intermixed with classic duel sword fighting styles just looks better on screen.
Meh, I like Boba Fett a lot better. Mainly because of his ship. I'd take the Slave I over the TIE Advanced any day. Plus, Vader murdered all those kids in "ROTS" (Sorry to bring the 'crappy' prequels into this, but I actually like them. I'm highly expecting someone to start flaming my ass off for saying that) and I hated him forever for that.
Is it me, or is this one of the crappiest endings in Star Wars history? Come on! How can it be the best when Han gets turned into a darn coffee table and we lose him to stupid Boba Fett? That's the stupidest ending ever, especially when you consider how pathetically Boba died later and they could've just killed him in this one. In a good story, everything ends happily. No one wants to watch a movie where the characters lose. This is the dumbest ending of Star Wars. Thanks a lot George Lucas.
I have to say I find Boba's original voice a LOT more fitting for his character. And...even if the prequels were something I wanted to remember....who's to say Boba wasn't adopted by American accented parents after his dad died, and took up smoking?
Those lines and the kiss got me, as an 11 year old girl, who was totally in love with Harrison Ford, back in 1980, to go to the theatre and see it 3 times that summer. I dragged everyone I could to the movie to see this scene. I had the poster in my room. Still am a big Harrison Ford and Star Wars fan. Han Solo is so cooky!
Yeah, one of the greatest ever lines from any of the SW movies, and made up on the fly by Harrison Ford (changed from the boring, "I love you too" in the script). Excellent stuff. Ford was one of the reasons why the original trilogy was in a totally different league from the prequels. He gave the story humanity.
"I am altering the deal. Pray i don't alter it further." Then Lando holding his neck shows just how persuasive Vader was with him to have him give up his friend. Very subtle and nice.
All I can say about this is the MUSIC is the best. The statement of Vader's Theme as it all happens. I wish Williams had put this in the concert version. At about 1:55 awesome.
There's an especially chilling scene in the ORIGINAL movie where Leia and Vader make eye contact for a few seconds. It's not only scary but also 10x more meaningful in light of their actual relationship.
I'd have to check, but in the scene as I remember it there was a close up of Vader alone as opposed to a shot of Leia staring at both Vader AND Boba Fett.
John Williams' score is amazing in this entire section. I particularly like the funeral march variation on Darth Vader's theme (when they are transporting Han Solo).
What makes this scene even sadder is the fact that Han kept saying "Everything's gonna be fine" when Leia was uneasy and earlier in the movie she said she'd love to see the day when he was wrong (or something to that effect.)
This whole scene has the GREATEST rendition of 'Darth Vader's Theme' I have ever heard. Wonderfully bombastic. Right after Chewie growls and 3PO asks what's going on?
Man, Chewbaca was goin' ballistic! I liked how Han was tryin to settle him down. He's like 'Chewie, stop! This won't help me, just save your strength. The Princess needs your more right now.'
I've always loved the music in the carbon freeze scene. If you removed the dialogue completely and just played the music in the background, the scene would still be just as powerful. This score is some of John Williams' best work.
I have the soundtrack and its on Disc 2, track 9. I think its called Carbon Freeze/Boba Fett, or something like that. No special name. it starts at 4:15 and ends at 4:52. Yeah, I've listened to it that much!
