ya he was only in the third season though, he played Jen's freshmen boyfriend but he ended up breaking up with her by e-mail in the fourth, Jen was played by health ledgers ex-wife

he doesnt always play the drunk rockstar, he played it once in Last Days.

He doesnt always do the same things: for example

Funny Games - Complete Physco <very good

The Dreamers - Nieve film buff <once again very good

Delirious <more fun, still very good

and

Bully - DRAMA <stoned Donnie <he was good.

If your tired of watching him act like a drunk rockstar dnt watch Last Days , or any of his other films for that matter. he is a talented actor and plays many different roles xoxo

I kept expecting him to turn to the camera and ask me if I wanted a real ending with some plausible plot development.

Finally, something he was actually good in.

However, this scene is set up mostly with costume and overt body acting and we don't really get to see his face and that vacant look that he gives for every character he has ever played...

Then again lots of actors make the mistake of acting with their faces only...

Some of these "Takes" are very good, but after watching 11 of them, the story is a little too hidden/vague. It's hard to imagine it will all suddenly become clear in the 12th take, but we will see.
