The reason why he is not at the top of his game is because those backhands are not so good anymore,he's making many many unforced errors with the backhand now,I sure hope he'll get that back ;)
"He just finds angles where most humans don't even try a shot like that."
At 3:19:
"Federer was just not going to miss when he got down 15-40... that is just outrageous."
At 4:10:
"Flick of greatness."
At 4:50:
"That's talent; that's the definition of talent."
Federer is not the best because of his titles, nor of his reccords; he is the best because of his gameplay. He produced more highlights shots in his career than all the the pros did over the last decade.
pfffff the shot at 5:38!! i dont remember this shot. i remember i watched the match but i've never seen this shot in any clip of roger's shots and i wonder why. i mean this shot is ridiculous fed is so far from the ball that he's doing a split step and still finds the short angle. love the commentators reaction too
5:40, federers greatest shot ever, the tweener against Djokvic in US was big because of the moment, that shot is actually not that difficult. But THIS shot is impossible..!
I actually had that match taped on TV (2005 Indian Wells), and I remember replaying this shot over and over and over again, thinking "this has to be one of the most insane passing shots of all time." Only federer.
This might be his best passing shot ever, and one of his best shots ever. It definitely stands out from any other shot in this video (but I'm not saying the other passing shots are bad by any means). :-D
unfortunately i have to be honest- i haven't seen him hit this in a while. he usually tries to do a slice crosscourt lob now, he isn't as comfortable with it as he used to be, possibly because his movement that side is fractionally slower after the injuries etc. But he's stepped it up in other respects- serve and forehand are working very well now. And he can grind them out like never before when his level dips.
and i mean he's reluctant to pass crosscourt on his backhand lately, or atleast I haven't seen him do it in his matches at the US yet, or Cincinatti. But his backhand down the line looks fine.
I'd so give you an infinite amount of stars for this, but it's unfortuante I can't! Roger's flick pass is THE BEST. Absolutely no other way to describe how great this is! Thanks for making this!
Hi cbee. I dare say there will be a second one at some point in the future :) The problem with making these is that you always leave out more than you put in.
The one at 5:40 against hewitt is arguably the best shot in this video. He could not have been stretched out any more at the point of contact, and he still somehow came up with just about the most extreme angle possible from that position.
It's really funny that when I said Nadal's play use too many physical strength and he's not gonna last long like Roger, a bunch of Rafa fans said that Nadal is the best, Federer just lucky because he didn't face much chance before and now he will be beaten by Nadal and Murray frequently. They always said that me n other Rog fans that we are "rapid" and always making excuses lol
5:35 how the hell did he get to that:O

Roger is the only human that can seem to hit a ball from behind his body and get it across court. Simply defies gravity
